Eruption Observed (UPDATED)
A minor eruption measuring as a low level B-Flare was observed on Sunday around a plage region located in the southeast quadrant. A coronal mass ejection (CME) is associated, but so far looks to be headed mostly to the east and away from Earth. Another update will be provided once additional coronagraph imagery and a tracking model becomes available.

CME Update
A slow moving coronal mass ejection (CME) observed on August 16th likely missed our planet and is no longer expected to deliver a glancing blow to our geomagnetic field. Widespread aurora beyond the Arctic (and Antarctic) circles will be unlikely tonight.

I have had only 3 dx contacts in the last two days from out here on I-20 somewhere around Abilene,Tx...Phoenix,Az,Dayton OH and Las Vegas. I could hear 702 in Jamaica but he only got my numbers and not my location. Other then that it has been very quiet.
Even the super bowl channel six is dead. In every regard that's a good thing when the bleed boxes are off...

I heard forum member Recon in New York State loud & clear on 35 AM tonight. I couldn’t get back to him though. 
Just the sounds of crickets, locusts, and coyotes over the hill.... 11 meters is a bust this week in the Texas high plains
Funny thing about Super Bowl bleed boxes is the nearest super bowl operator is about 25 miles away from me and his bleed box is so bad and overdriven that when I switch to a 300 Watt dummy load i can still hear him.
From the UK Sporadic E has been poor this week. However I made multiple good contacts into Brazil yesterday around the last hour before sunset on what I believe to be grey line propagation, not bad going for a vertical omni antenna this end. (The Brazilians did the bulk of job with their beams at the other end)
No dx here tonight but some great groundwave conditions. Made contacts with stations 100 to 135 miles away. Always enjoy talking this way

I got the Blah, Blah, Blah guy on 38 this morning. Apparently he lives in NJ and is named Joe. He was talking to one guy about ripping down someone's antennas and then that guy got on and told him to go a head and try it. Joe talked about who he knew that he could get to do "Things". The other guy said he was going to call the cops. Then the Blah, Blah started....... in my opinion, Blah, Blah Joe appears to be the agitator........ I know people like this, and they are not happy unless they are mad at someone.
