11 meter is very quiet?

In spite of the generally poor conditions, I've made a couple interesting contacts out in the Pacific recently, both new countries for me, and bringing my total up to 85.
I had 274AT0 Pitcairn Island a couple weeks ago, and then this afternoon 135DA0, Darren, from the Solomon Islands. Both places in the way way way south Pacific.....
Both on 27.610 USB.

In the panhandle of Texas, static is all there is. Unbelievable!
And 270 miles south of you I had about 1 1/2 hours of decent dx. Nothing to brag about, but it was a little something, which is more than I've had here in the past week.

I'm trying my best to push some up your way, my friend!

i just heard 226 talking to Maine.
Yes, I've had around 12 contacts and they've all be up in the NE. It's all back to being quiet now.

Edit:
I just had a great qso with 212 (David) in the west indies. The island of Grenada. This is the fifth time we've made contact in the past several months.

It's times like this you can find some rare contacts.
Out of the noise a conversation fades in, as the signals climb above the noise you find out they are located in french polynesia or the philippines.
