11 meter is very quiet?

Has anybody fooled around in FM to see how that's working ? I haven't had luck on the base or mobile, but will admit I haven't put much effort into it because of fall project work. If it rains I think I'll sneak into the Extra Channels because I haven't been there in awhile.
My personal opinion is FM may not be for everyone. I tried it several times with a local CBer both mobile to mobile, mobile to base and base to base. He is only twelve miles from my location. I'll admit that FM is nice and clear but when it drops-out, it drops-out quickly. Also, if you pause too long between your words, the person on the other end may think you have finished talking and he / she starts talking. We found that using the roger beep on FM was a blessing, but we stopped using FM.

Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York.
These are the four states where I had 8 contacts on FM, early yesterday evening. When conditions are good they're good, on FM as well. I've also had several qsos with @Rick330man and other forum members on FM.

I think it is, whatever you make it.

Funny you should mention it because I found the New Cobra 19 Ultra with FM almost over-powering me today. I went to Walmart today and always snoop in the electronics. There is where I seen my first Cobra offering of AM-FM compact radio and the urge to buy & try almost got the better of me until I got a hold of myself. Would love to see inside one to see what they have done. But I already bought a President Thomas early this spring to try and found that AM bleeds over onto FM and that I didn't like. But around where I live there isn't hardly any AM traffic anyway and no locals to talk to. But wonder if SSB bleeds over onto FM

Good day, I have an Icom IC910H radio. I want to program a memory with split frequency tone on TX only and NO tone on RX,. Is this possible to do from the face of the radio? I don't have the interface to connect to a computer.

@Deon very unlikely to get a response here. You are better off starting a thread on the topic.
