11 meter is very quiet?

Conditions have been pretty good around these parts with many contacts throughout the day. This 2995dx has been getting one heck of a workout these last couple of days with several unsolicited compliments.

The CON is the 2995 not having the anytone noise reduction circuit because it's got me spoiled......
But a west mountain nr processor will be here Tuesday to fix that.

Happy dx everyone

Eldorado828, I love my Ranger 2995DXCF and I agree with your Con....... however this below works great clearing up the background hash, etc at least for me!! View attachment 70922
It's my first time owning a 2995 and I've got no complaints aside from the lack of an nr circuit. It's a powerful radio for sure, it has no problems getting out.

It's my first time seeing the one you have pictured, actually there aren't a whole lot of options out there so I went with the west mountain version to improve the receiver.

That West mountain looks really nice and I bet it will be a lot better than what I have,as mine was made in the early 90's,Not complaining,Will have to let us know what you think of it when you get it and start using it, Might be interested in getting one myself down the road........

,other than that, conditions this afternoon weren't the greatest for Dxing up here in Central PA, hope everyone had a great Sunday!!!!
I was a busy beaver today rearranging the garage and getting the lawn equipment out so I could get my car in for the winter. But I did get 1 small road trip in late this afternoon and the DX Stunk around here so I switched the radio right back off. This morning it seemed OK on the DX 2547 but right now I'm one sore, hurting old dog. Woof Woof

But I'll bet your RS Processor was a lot more reasonable than the West Mountain !

Yeah it was,I got it off eBay,New in box and I believe I only paid $75.00,etc ,but back in the 90's I believe it was well over $100 brand new when it came out....
Yeah but even at over $100 that would be a real deal because I bet the quality was there. West Mountain is scalping the market but still I bought 2 because I hate all the extra noise involved with 11 meter, but in the back of the mind you wonder if it does any thing to your transmit being extra circuitry tied into you system !

Yeah, good point on the quality issue, today's electronics just aren't the same in quality like things used to be back in either my time or my Dad's time, and he just turned 85 back in March, etc ...
