I'm not hearing any skip - that is how bad this old fiberglass whip is! Deaf!
I'm on a 5 Element Antenna Specialists (the cloud burner) and I'm not hearing any skip right now either......so your antenna is not deaf 
Skip has been screaming the last couple of weeks on LSB 38 and most other frequencies for that matter.
As of right now, 7/11/21 @ 9:00PM eastern time - it's rolling hard on 38LSB. So many you can't hardly understand anybody, it's a pile up for sure.

Even on 39 I could call CQ and get 3 people coming back, only to have them get lost in the mix.
Yeah but there was less there, I could at least understand what people were saying. Maybe one day I’ll pick the mic up…
what i was thinkin too.get to somebody n 5 start shouting to who your talkin to n nobody gets a chance. like hungry hogs at feeding time shove n turn feeder over n loose most of the food
