I got my old school King Bee 250 today an I am going to try an start the install process tomorrow. I know you have to use heavy gauge wire but I know I have 10 ga. In the garage but it's single strand wire . Do I need to use multi strand or will single work? Thanks

Do you mean killer bee 250? If so yea, on a short run #10 wire is fine for two 2290's.

No its King Bee 150/250 blue in color its like brand new been stored in my brothers closet for years he bought in the 80's an used a couple of years . I finally talked him in to giving it to me not new but it looks it .

He was asking if solid wire vs stranded #10awg, I would use stranded not solid if possible. If I read the post right. Yes sir, try to use at least #10awg stranded wire not solid. Like I posted, check any car stereo shop or even Walmart for some car stereo wire like that used for car amps. And it never hurts to go larger than you need, like using #8 or even #4awg. Just in case you get the radio bug and decide to upgrade amps, you already have larger wire to accommodate a larger system. And IMO I would get a good in line fuse block to put near the battery. And use the same size wire for ground as you do for power and make the ground as short as possible and ground it to a seat bolt or something that grounds to the chassis. All JMO, but spend the time on a good install and it will return you with good performance. JMO and then there's the antenna system, don't skimp out in this area as well. JMO. Good luck and god bless

22dbfl , I figured that but I knew where the single strand was in my garage the other might take a little looking . Thanks

I get ya now, yea fine multi strand wire for our applications is best. Many many years ago I ran #8 home style wire with a TS667. It worked but not the best results and it was stiffer then a wedding night peter. I switched over to the car stereo shop stuff and it worked great.

Solid wire in an automotive application is a no no. It'll work harden with vibration over time and break. Stranded wire is the way to go.

Jeff , there is an Avenger 250 for sale in the swap shop on this site it looks just like the King Bee with a different name they must have made these thing an put different names on them . Do you know who made these amps ?

Got it hooked up , after trying for a week to get a DX contact an nothing turned on the amp on low an got 274 in Houston . Install went well an my DX mobile problems are solved . Thanks for the help everyone .
