Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Mine has it too,but unlike this new revision you have to use the VFO to get there.

JD-
I bought a new microphone and 4 pin adapter for my 5555n ii from Scott's Radios and it works great! He has done an excellent job on everything I've bought from him.

Scott seems like a stand up guy. I just had an email conversation with him and he didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. I would definitely do business with him when the need arises.
I've considered trying out the KPO mic but I've gotten nothing but flowers using a 636 with a little bit of echo on AM. Tried a Road Devil but squeal city with that POS!

I couldn't agree more! He's definitely a stand-up guy. The mic I bought with the adapter is the Zetagi desk mic and WOW!! What a great microphone! Been getting excellent reports whenever I use it.

Scott is a great guy, I have purchased several radios from him. I also purchased that Zetagi desk mic from him, it does have great audio for sure.

These radios will swing to damn near full power from a low DK! Some folks just can't resist wrecking a perfectly good radio with golden screwdriver ideas!

JD
It's not wrecked. Look at it on a scope before such assumptions are made. I'm far from a screwdriver kid ;)
The 5555 Plus that I did this on was a bit puny and the negative peaks would cut off trying to get any swing out of it. It was clipping at 20 watts pep from 3 watts carrier. This just calmed it down and smoothed the ruffies off in the audio if running 3 watts of carrier. I'm sure the radios with the 1x1x2 final section are a bit less anemic without any NPC mods. Just trying to share info fellas, don't make assumptions about me just because I'm a pretty new face around here ;)
Take care 73
Edited for grammar.

Just saw this from Scott's Radios...............I guess there have been some minor changes.

JD

They are minor changes, but they are a very big deal if you ask me!

If you have ever used a radio that can VFO step in 5kHz steps, you will know how much of a great (and very rare) feature this is to find on a 10m export rig.
It's a game changer for SSB searching, and I could not be happier that it has come to what was already, my favorite radio of this type.

Has anyone found a version of the QPS5555N_II programming software that works properly with the latest updated radio, that includes the extra bands and 5kHz steps?
The V2.01 software, which is the latest version available on the Anytone website, is not compatible with the newest versions of the radio (the ones that have been out for a couple of weeks now).

Scott's radio's posted a video just a few days ago in regards to the software. Qixiang is working on the software he explains in the video. So it seems there is none for the current version.

Yep I know. I'm just exploring all options as Anytone / Qixiang are not super responsive, and potentially, their left hand doesn't know what their right hand is doing. I am also talking with them.

For what it's worth, I can confirm that all settings on the new radio can be programmed (read and write) with the V2.01 software. But the BAND channel tables are out of whack. So, if you wanted to program specific channels, that's no good right now, as the channel banks fill with random default frequencies.

BUT, if you only operate in VFO mode (like I do) then it's fine. I can modify the settings in the rig (SWR protection, Screen text, etc) and that is all working OK.

I have software for At-5555N II which is original 2.01 that I requested from anytone in May 2022. It will work with version that has Band up to J letter, the new version that has 12m bands K and L will not work correctly. If anyone wants that version that works for radio with up to J band, I may have to load it to Google drive and give you a link. Not sure if I attach file in here it will work.

Hi all,
I have been in regular contact with Anytone. They are about the release a new version of PC software this fixes the issues found in V2.01 and V2.02 versions. It should be on the Anytone website soon. (Probably called "V2.03", but that is TBA).

For what its worth, Anytone have been fantastic at listening to customers and trying to fix the issues they have had reported to them. They really do care about their products, which is great to see!

Thank you for the report, that's good to know and especially these days. They seem to be aggressive in the niche of cb in ways others have really fallen short. Ranger doesn't seem to care....
