ANYTONE AT-6666 Best Price ??

I have read that these radios have a hidden service menu that should not be altered.
If you get into the factory settings and change the defaults they can not be recovered.
This is from the guys over at TM1

Have a look.

This is for the AT-6666. v1 was easy to accidently get into the Service Menu, so in v3 they changed it. The settings appear to be the same for both versions. Ch6 sets the 10.695 and has different settings depending on the mode (FM, USB, LSB).

Service Menu:

NOTE: Write initial value down before changes otherwise your going to cry when it’s broken!

v1 Hold down Menu + Mode and power ON

v3 Hold down PTT + Menu + Mode and power ON

You have now entered the Service Menu. Channels 1-3 do nothing. Access channels 4-17 by selecting channel then push on the channel selection knob. Rotate to change value. Exit channel by pushing menu.

Ch 1-3 na
Ch 4 freq 498
Ch 5 frq off
Ch 6 bfo 0556
Ch 7 afr 0626
Ch 8 ctcss 0039
Ch 9 DC's 0027

Cycle power off then on to completely exit this mode.

It would be interesting to see what settings a v4 ss9900 has.

Just ordered one $225 from 88 radio.

A worthwhile investment. Mine was sitting in a box for almost a year (Given to me for a repair that took that long. Could not make myself open the box until the repaired TS-940 was back home)

It is my "go to" now for 10 and 11 meters. (Especially since my Kenwood crapped the bed!)

Full disclosure-It has not keyed over 20 watts on SSB. Never tried it on AM. Not an AM guy!

I think you'll be pleased.

Let us know how 88 radio takes care of you.
I have bought from 88 radio before, they have a warehouse in California. I got a 5555 from there about 3 years ago. More recently, I bought my second pair of kl302 amps. The first pair was about 2 years ago. I have not seen a better price on these amps anywhere. No complaints so far.

I have heard a lot of good things about these radios, many people seem to like them really well. I figured I would get one as a present to me for working a bunch of overtime. Can't have a bunch of money sitting around going bad now.
