Be on the lookout for a new RANGER EXPORT

Ill stick with any of the 2950 models I have with a power supplt LMAO!! I have a pile of power supplies as I do radios so to buy a new radio to add to the collection it would have to be unique for $600.00 and not a glorified version of a radio I already posess :unsure:

I called around a bit this morning, because I was questioning the "touch screen display" feature of this new radio.
it is NOT a touch screen, it is a Thin film transistor liquid crystal display.
You still have to push the corresponding button on the side of the display, and it simply light`s the icon on the screen.
So, basically it looks like it is a RCI 2950DX, in a base station case with a power supply, and a large TFT display.
If you look at the picture of the board, you can see the 2950-DX mobile radio chassis ( note the brass inserts for the thumb screws for the mounting brackets ) mounted in the case, and the power supply (switching) to the right of it.
The only real difference is you can program the radio with the USB port RE: memory channels/wallpaper/calendar/clock features.

So it is basically a RCI 2950DX with a different control head, the display, and some programming functions. Interesting but too much money!

OK, I continue to get info on this Radio, I have spoken with Chip, @ Radio Shop Supply here in Ca, both on Phone And e-mail.
He tells me this Radio, does indeed have a touch screen display.
It would appear that the gentlemen I spoke with @ bells CB provided me with the wrong information.
