best 11meter vertical ever, period.

After hearing about Multimode200's, 1/2 wave spiderplane with such good reports some time back, and now with Nav2012's glowing report using his spiderplane A99, I have to wonder why they're not the antenna of choice all over the world?

In any body's book using a modified A99 that never has any static or shows a 2-4 Sunit improvement over a stock A99...should get anybodies attention. :sneaky2:

There you go again Marconi, I never said My A99 had a 2-4 S point advantage over any other Antenna, I said I have no static which allows me to hear better. The subtle differences between being deaf because of static and not being deaf make differences.
There is no point you modelling my A99 in your software Marconi because your software is only as good as the idiot that wrote it. I'M TELLING YOU THE FUCKING TRUTH. I'm not trying the BS people or claim to have found some sort of miracle I'm telling you how it is and if you don't believe it book a flight over to the UK and come witness it, my A99 because of Bob-85 is a better machine.
I've got a flat dead needle most of the time where static is concerned, the antenna certainly isn't deaf, now if you will care to listen which I did, Bob can tell you why, but if you wanna continue to argue the toss till you are blue in the face then be my guest.

Hey, nav.
seriously, I'm curious, do you have any photos I could see of the spiderplane modification.
As you are aware, I like that sort of thing.

One thing for sure, this antenna ISN'T the best 11m antenna.
Can't believe someone would bother to mfr and sell a 3 ft version of an A99 ('kinda').
100% junk!

Sold and distributed in South America and Europe. No wonder we don't hear enough from there if they are using this thing. Mounts like one would mount a real antenna. If you read the spec on it; they claim it is a 1/4 wave. A 3 ft long antenna is a 1/4 wave - yeah, right, sure.

Damn your logic & reason! How can any new CB superstitions get started here if you keep up that slick!?!? (y)

But seriously, I'll wager a quid Nav's set-up is working spot on because it's dialed in for his location/height/TOA needs/ etc. - but I do not see how any of the mods he's done to his A99 could circumvent the A99 non-DC shunt grounded matching network propensity for static build up.

Another anecdotal update:

A local on Ch.17 about 5 miles from me called 'Spokes' who runs a 2995 just replaced his A99 with a Penetrator and has increased his TX to me from 17 over 9 to 23 over 9 on the Pro3 analog meter. On the LCD bar graph meter he is now solidly lighting the 20 over segment where he was only flickering the 15 over segment before the swap... I know, I know, must have been a bad A99...
He said he now hears people he couldn't hear before but could only tell they were there in the noise.

And to think he used to say, "I like my Antron99, it works great for me!" - seems like I've heard that somewhere before. :bored:

So Marconi, when are you going to buy one and try it??

I had one of those on an apartment roof A/C unit and my mobile in the parking lot got out better on a mag-mount K-40
