Cant find a radio repair person anywhere

Parts, techs and radio's are becoming more unobtanium with each passing day. Having such a respected radio being trashed like this is disrespectful. As already noted, many in the know here would have paid the freight to keep it alive.
I disrespect people by throwing a cb away? Pshh, explain that logic to me

I get it, but i dont respect cb radios. I like them but i dont respect them by any means. Its Just a toy. Im just saying, if cant find a repair shop to fix my gear, in the garbage it goes.
"Respect" a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. Sorry, not cb radios... lol, i almost want to throw away my grant, pc244 and 29gtl just to see people cry, hahaha. But no way man, they work.
I bet you don't have the balls to smash them on video

If everyone is so backed up how are cb places going out of business?

Simple: CB is no longer as big as it once was, so less people needing radios to be repaired. Also because most radios now are not made to be repaired, they're made to be thrown away.

The few repairmen we have left are probably backlogged for that reason; there are probably less repairmen than there are current CBer's.

Well I would have been one that would have gladly paid the freight and Had I been contacted would have taken for repair. I'm not hurting for work I'm currently sitting here at the bench bringing RCI2980 back from the dead it seems all I get anymore are basket cases and they are time consuming as I many other irons in the fire it takes some time anytime you wish to ask I usually look at my PM's at least couple of times a week.

This came in with a note saying they think it may have been hit by a little lightning I can say for sure but it got hit by something these are just a few of the images that show some of the damage but all is good in RCI land as I have it all working and will have it back to them with a billing that is almost as much as the radio would almost have cost NEW! but they said money is no issue as the radio belonged to there father and they wanted it back like new.

I have an RCI2995DX next in line that is actually in worse condition and have already spent about 3 hours tracking down all it's issues and is currently waiting for parts.

Just had a package in the mail that was sent before asking if they should and found a 757GX and power supply with a note saying it don't work ?????

Just finished a 101EE and the man asked me if I could place up for sale for him and since he is a really good guy I said ok so it's on eBay at them moment with a $720 bid and 6 days to go OH! it comes with an FL2100B, A DD-1 COUNTER, YD844 YAESU MIC AND ALL THE CABLES.

So yes I have been a very busy and tired old man but still getting it done.

The number of BO radios in my closet is building up to deadly levels. I'm looking for a good/great tech taking new work. There's nobody local in Los Angeles that I can find.

Problem is there’s very few good Cb techs left and it’s a shame. Sure you can get a new one from the 1000 different online stores, but most just hack them up because they have no clue. I’m in the market for a new radio, but I don’t trust anyone these days.

Try Superior CB in Ontario. I have sent my Magnum to them twice and have had no problems. Last time it took about a month or so to get my radio back.

Clay's Cb shop in San Antonio has done me very good on my old Uniden president grant and my Uniden 980. Not so much on my Magnum and that is how I got to know the cb shop in Ontario. If I remember it was the CPU and had to send it to Ontario, since he is/was a repair center for Magnum Radios.
I have never known Clay to do stupid mods, just sets the radio to get it sounding top shelf. He isn't cheap though. Fairly sure he takes mail in repairs.

I must be one disrespectful SOB too then I tell you a funny story I live in a small community that has a trash dump transfer location I took a bunch of radios that I don’t use anymore and a few that needed attention and I’m like you can’t find a tech that will fix them right especially the old tube and SSB radios so I figure just throw them In the trash, the dump has a special box for Electronics so I put a bunch of radios In that box I figured maybe someone might take them especially the Trams and the Brownings before I went home I hung out for a few hours and when I got back home them gawd damn radios beat me home and were on my front porch one of the guys that lives near me that works at the dump knows I talk on the CB and figured I might want them not knowing I was the SOB that was trying to trash them.
