Not a problem as far as I'm concerned. I have had good luck with everything I have owned except for two of my Ford Thunderbirds. Bought those second hand and that must be why. One Tbird I owned when stationed in Hawaii was the greatest attractor I have ever seen. Stop at a stoplight and the ladies would pile in.
It was a hardtop convertible.

I didn't have to pay that much for it. I got it from a Radio Shack in South Houston that was going out of business. I made an offer and they took it.

Robyn T-240D, Cobra 139XLR, Cobra 2000GTL, and Galaxy DX-2547. Still have all but the DX-2547. The 139XLR is probably my favorite, but I like all of them a lot.

LOL... good memories! My first was a Browning "Brownie" 23 channel mobile, very similar to your Pace. Mag mount on a pizza pan, mounted to some sort of tripod, and an old battery powering the rig. I didn't get out very far. Dad later bought me a power supply (mostly because my Mom didn't want an old battery on the floor of my bedroom), and then I saved up money to buy a Radio Shack 1/4 wave ground plane.

I started out with a Heathkit lunchbox CB that I traded away a Hallicrafters S120 for. I was just a kid and didn't know anything about it or how it worked but strung up a random wire around the inside of my bedroom. I managed to talk to another kid with a REAL CB setup two blocks away eventually and he explained a lot of it to me. These pictures are just copied from the internet.

Then when my cousin went into the army, I got his CB gear that included a Super Magnum antenna and a Measur Matic CBX15 transceiver (vintage 1962)
THREE METERS!! COOL!! I have watched Ebay for YEARS and never seen one listed yet, must be pretty darn rare!

Then I got a Lafayette Comstat 25B, My first 23 channel rig. I have another one now that is like new I found at a swap meet for $15. It works just fine but is a shelf queen.

Then I went solid state with a Midland 13-877 and an Astro Plane antenna.


I also have a Midland 13-880 that is a working shelf queen from a swap meet that cost me $10. I never had one back in the day but a friend did and I thought it was SO cool!


Very early on I also had a Hallifrafters CB-10 (5 channels) for a mobile.

One Heathkit GW-31 walkie talkie

And a set of two Penncrest walkies that really started it all as they were the first 2 way radios I ever had back in maybe 1962. I can't find the pictures of those right now.

Pretty sure I broke the end of the antenna off of every CB walkie I ever owned!

Aha! A Firesign Theater quote, circa 1970, IIRC. Some of the memories from that era are a bit fuzzy..... But that's okay, I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

Actually, the Firesign Theater album cover (with the pliers) was a remake of Bob Dylans Blonde on Blonde album cover.

I was thinking about that album just last week when I was stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis blues again searching for the sad-eyed lady of the lowlands and all I could see were visions of johanna singing I Want You to a bunch of rainy day women wearing leopard-skin pill-box hats.

Think I'll go dig out my copy and listen to it.

Montgomery ward 702 40 channel, dads cb that I moved into my room through highschool (late 80's to early 90's)with a fiberglass whip outside my bedroom window

Montgomery Ward had several pieces of "electronics" that looked the same, just like that radio. Their 8-Track tape players of the same vintage would almost be indistinguishable from that CB.
