ok thanks I didn't know that. Mine is a older model 1985 so maybe that's why.for some strange reason some came with it and others didn't
ok cool, thanks for that info. Interesting. Yeah the radio has been working fine without it being in there. This gave me something to do this morning while I drink some coffee.
C154 (.047 mfd.) is a RF bypass capacitor at the emitter of TR37,
which is the bias supply to the RF output final TR36.
you can put anything in there from .001 to .1 mfd.
or just leave it out. it is working now.
is that book online? I'd like to read that.Bayou beat me to it. On pg 241 of Lou Franklin's book Understanding and Repairing CB Radios, he specifically mentions that capacitor.
I know he offers a sample download of his books on his site, but I am not aware of any free copy floating around the web and I am not sure if that page is in the sample or not..is that book online? I'd like to read that.
If you find someone offering Lou's book for sale as a download, let us know.I know he offers a sample download of his books on his site, but I am not aware of any free copy floating around the web and I am not sure if that page is in the sample or not..
