Cobra 2000 GTL C154 Missing

This gave me something to do this morning while I drink some coffee.
C154 (.047 mfd.) is a RF bypass capacitor at the emitter of TR37,
which is the bias supply to the RF output final TR36.
you can put anything in there from .001 to .1 mfd.
or just leave it out. it is working now.

Bayou beat me to it. On pg 241 of Lou Franklin's book Understanding and Repairing CB Radios, he mentions that capacitor.

ok cool, thanks for that info. Interesting. Yeah the radio has been working fine without it being in there.

thanks everyone for the usful information. This website is great and get answers quick about my 2000. It was hacked up pretty good and the golden screwdriver went in it. Just been trying to put it back to stock.

" --- Just been trying to put it back to stock."

Yes, that is what I like to do, back to stock, and adjust
the AMC/ALC to maximum for good 100 percent modulation.
And also get the RIT back to normal on all these radios..

I know he offers a sample download of his books on his site, but I am not aware of any free copy floating around the web and I am not sure if that page is in the sample or not..
If you find someone offering Lou's book for sale as a download, let us know.
Lou is a member here, and people have tried this before, copying and selling his work.
