Just heard on Fox Business , RI rated & " A" as far as spread & social distancing ? Do I believe it .... ? Hate to say it I need to go out Animals need feed , said it would come in today @ TSC . 73 , Leo

Capt , I haven't seen #'s from your neck of the woods . Just curious , how is it on your end ? Thanks . 73 & God Bless , Leo

WE have for the most part been pretty decent. Country wide we are running about 4100 infections and 40 deaths. Here in Nova Scotia we are mostly rural with a population of about one million. We have currently 73 infections and no deaths so far. I am sure there are more that have not been reported but this is the latest stats available. We have been well below the numbers you guys are seeing down there. People NEED to stay the hell home and not gather in groups. With a population of almost ten times what we have we generally see that reflected in most things affecting the world as a whole but with 85,000 cases in the USA you guys are over twice the infection rate and much higher than that in deaths than we are so far. Grocery supplies are starting to comeback to normal with a few exceptions. Toilet paper is now back on the shelves. Disinfectant wipes are still nowhere to be found. Bread is back on the shelves again too. Canned goods are limited to 6 of any one kind per customer. LOTS of businesses are closed or running reduced hours. Most have installed plexiglass shields between the cashier and customer. My son and his girlfriend both got laid off last week. They both work in the restaurant industry which has been devastated here. My job has been declared an essential business since we form part of the supply chain to the food packaging industry so my job is secure at least until the company gets an in-house infection. My wife is a registered nurse so no fear whatsoever of her being out of work. Just the fear of what she might bring home into the house with her. We are in this for the long run so sit back, buckle up and hold on because the worst is yet to come. By far.

Yep....US now has most reported cases in the world, both current and total.

That said, the cases per million and apparent death rate remain fairly low compared to some other countries.

Italy and Spain have by far the highest deaths per million/population of anywhere.

Has anyone noticed the data transfer being retarded or even stop? Intermittent here, nothing after 7-8 pm. I get in from staying busy and can't go online or multi media text.

.”Reports are that the truckers are getting supplies to the stores. People are stocking the shelves all night and letting the elderly shop first. Carnival Cruise line told Trump “We can match those big Navy Hospital ships with some fully staffed cruise ships” GM said hold our cars and watch this; we can make those ventilators where we were making cars starting next week. Women and children are making homemade masks and handing out snacks to truckers. Restaurants and schools said, We’ve got kitchens and staff; we can feed kids.” Churches are holding on-line services and taking care of their members and communities. NBA basketball players said, “Hold our basketballs while we write checks to pay the arena staff.” Construction companies and tattoo shops said, “Here are some masks for the medical staff and doctors”. Breweries are making sanitizer out of the left-over ingredients. We thought we couldn’t live without Baseball, NASCAR, NBA or going to the beach, restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Instead, we’re trying to keep those businesses open by ordering online and placing take-out orders.

What the world didn't count on was America saying "Hey, hold on and watch this."

Give us a few more weeks (maybe months) and we will be doing much better! And stop listening to the hysterical media!!

We have a wonderful country and an amazing God.

God bless America!

Well, when you run out of population to infect......decline is inevitable.

I spoke too soon anyway. Italy just reported their worst single day deaths...919. They had not previously broken 800.

And we're at 173 so far for the day, which if the past few days serve as any indication our death toll today will probably be the highest we've experienced to date.

We’ve been lucky in So Cal without lockdowns like in Italy or Spain. My relatives are in Italy and it sucks for them now. They fight just to have to luxury of taking out the trash!! Some fresh air besides balconies.

We just have to hunker down till the virus peaks and dwindles. Starting up life as we knew it too early would probably start things over again. We’re a strong country! Our economy has bounced back and it will. But we can’t rush into it.

Pretty much the same thing happening up here. The local Tim Horton's doughnut shop and a locally owned pizza shop are supplying the hospital with pizzas and fresh coffee and treats for the staff free of charge. Businesses that use masks are donating them to the hospitals and paramedic crews. WE have a big industry here of craft breweries, distilleries, and cideries and many have switched to making alcohol based sanitizers. Many store chains have started to pay their workers an extra 2$/hr retroactive to the first of the month just for sticking it out.So far everybody seems to be sticking together to get thru this.

EXACTLY. I cringed when I heard Trump talking about wanting to get things up and going by Easter Sunday. Thousands of people packing into churches he said. Ummmmmm.....................NOT a good idea. We will need "social distancing" for a lot longer than that if we want to kick this. My fear is that when spring starts to get nice and into summer I see the beaches filling up and backyard parties happening and another surge in numbers.
