Rime of the Ancient Mariner~Iron Maiden

Hear the rime of the ancient mariner
See his eye as he stops one of three
Mesmerizes one of the wedding guests
Stay here and listen to the nightmares of the sea
And the music plays on, as the bride passes by
Caught by his spell and the mariner tells his tale
Driven south to the land of the snow and ice
To a place where nobody's been
Through the snow fog flies on the albatross
Hailed in God's name, hoping good luck it brings
And the ship sails on, back to the North
Through the fog and ice and the albatross follows on
The mariner kills the bird of good omen
His shipmates cry against what he's done
But when the fog clears, they justify him
And make themselves a part of the crime
Sailing on and on and north across the sea
Sailing on and on and north 'til all is calm
The albatross begins with its vengeance
A terrible curse a thirst has begun
His shipmates blame bad luck on the mariner
About his neck, the dead bird is hung
And the curse goes on and on at sea
And the curse goes on and on for them and me
"Day after day, day after day
We stuck nor breath nor motion
As idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean
Water, water everywhere and
All the boards did shrink
Water, water everywhere nor any drop to drink."
There calls the mariner
There comes a ship over the line
But how can she sail with no wind in her sails and no tide
See, onward she comes
Onward she nears out of the sun
See, she has no crew
She has no life, wait but here's two
Death and she life in death
They throw their dice for the crew
She wins the mariner and he belongs to her now
Then, crew one by one
They drop down dead, two hundred men
She, she, life in death
She lets him live, her chosen one
"One after one by the star dogged moon
Too quick for groan or sigh
Each turned his face with a ghastly pang
And cursed me with his eye
Four times fifty living men
(And I heard nor sigh nor groan)
With heavy thump, a lifeless lump
They dropped down one by one."
The curse it lives on in their eyes
The mariner he wished he'd die
Along with the sea creatures
But they lived on, so did he
And by the light of the moon
He prays for their beauty not doom
With heart he blesses them
God's creatures all of them too
Then the spell starts to break
The albatross falls from his neck
Sinks down like lead into the sea
Then down in falls comes the rain
Hear the groans of the long dead seamen
See them stir and they start to rise
Bodies lifted by good spirits
None of them speak and they're lifeless in their eyes
And revenge is still sought, penance starts again
Cast into a trance and the nightmare carries on
Now the curse is finally lifted
And the mariner sights his home
Spirits go from the long dead bodies
Form their own light and the mariner's left alone
And then a boat came sailing towards him
It was a joy he could not believe
The pilot's boat, his son and the hermit
Penance of life will fall onto him
And the ship it sinks like lead into the sea
And the hermit shrives the mariner of his sins
The mariner's bound to tell of his story
To tell this tale wherever he goes
To teach God's word by his own example
That we must love all things that God made
And the wedding guest's a sad and wiser man
And the tale goes on and on and on

Noticed the map depicting Corona virus in the US. Even though Texas has no known communicable cases it is listed by the media. They include Texas without stating the cases are from that infected cruise ship. Though, one was released and then readmitted because of poor CDC testing, resulting in about 18 to be monitored. The mayor of San Antonio, as result of aforementioned episode, has notified that none of the quarenteened are to step foot inside San Antonio. He also demanded extended quarenteen period with additional testing be performed.

Now......just right up the road in the liberal mecca of Texas, the health officials and mayor of Austin have come to the conclusion that canceling the SXSW venue will not make anyone safer. Apparently, the democratic threshold of Texas feels revenue is more important.

Here's the link.....

Closing SXSW won’t make Austin safer yet against coronavirus, health officials say

Great song by Iron Maiden. I saw them perform it live when it first came out. It's based on a much older poem:
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (text of 1834)
By Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Argument

How a Ship having passed the Line was driven by storms to the cold Country towards the South Pole; and how from thence she made her course to the tropical Latitude of the Great Pacific Ocean; and of the strange things that befell; and in what manner the Ancyent Marinere came back to his own Country.

...And through the drifts the snowy clifts
Did send a dismal sheen:
Nor shapes of men nor beasts we ken—
The ice was all between.

The ice was here, the ice was there,
The ice was all around:
It cracked and growled, and roared and howled,
Like noises in a swound!

At length did cross an Albatross,
Thorough the fog it came;
As if it had been a Christian soul,
We hailed it in God's name.

It ate the food it ne'er had eat,
And round and round it flew.
The ice did split with a thunder-fit;
The helmsman steered us through!

And a good south wind sprung up behind;
The Albatross did follow,
And every day, for food or play,
Came to the mariner's hollo!

In mist or cloud, on mast or shroud,
It perched for vespers nine;
Whiles all the night, through fog-smoke white,
Glimmered the white Moon-shine.'

'God save thee, ancient Mariner!
From the fiends, that plague thee thus!—
Why look'st thou so?'—With my cross-bow
I shot the ALBATROSS.

PART II
The Sun now rose upon the right:
Out of the sea came he,
Still hid in mist, and on the left
Went down into the sea.

And the good south wind still blew behind,
But no sweet bird did follow,
Nor any day for food or play
Came to the mariner's hollo!

And I had done a hellish thing,
And it would work 'em woe:
For all averred, I had killed the bird
That made the breeze to blow.
Ah wretch! said they, the bird to slay,
That made the breeze to blow!

Nor dim nor red, like God's own head,
The glorious Sun uprist:
Then all averred, I had killed the bird
That brought the fog and mist.
'Twas right, said they, such birds to slay,
That bring the fog and mist.

The fair breeze blew, the white foam flew,
The furrow followed free;
We were the first that ever burst
Into that silent sea.

Down dropt the breeze, the sails dropt down,
'Twas sad as sad could be;
And we did speak only to break
The silence of the sea!

All in a hot and copper sky,
The bloody Sun, at noon,
Right up above the mast did stand,
No bigger than the Moon.

Day after day, day after day,
We stuck, nor breath nor motion;
As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean.

Water, water, every where,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, every where,
Nor any drop to drink...

It won't all fit here, but here's a link to the entire poem:

The Trump Admin is bringing suit to the SC in re Executive Powers as delineated by the the Constitution.

Upheld under Myers, 1926.

Reversed by Rooseveltian commies on the SC in, Humphrey’s Executor, 1936

Does the President have the power to fire anyone (at will) in the Executive Branch?

Not since 1936 he hasn’t.

Covid-19. It’s the latest year-long version of the irrelevant. The OJ Trial that took up 1994 while America was sold away.

People are sick everywhere and all the time. News, it isn’t.

Once The Don can (in reality) eliminate the Senior Executive Service, the line to the gallows will stretch around the corner.

The Devil's advocate says too late.

Speaking of "witch".......Pelosi has delayed appropriation of $$$$'s to fight Corona Virus.

HOUSE GOP LEADER ACCUSES PELOSI OF STALLING CORONAVIRUS BILL SO DEMS CAN ATTACK GOP

Nancy Pelosi does not care about the coronavirus or the people who get it. At the same time that she claims Trump has done nothing (Besides putting up 2.5 billion in funds and declaring a state of emergency both before a single person died.), she has been sitting on a bill to provide aid in the fight against the virus. It reeks of political activism which has no place in congress.

Compare what this president has done compared to what Obama did with the H1N1 virus. Millions contracted the disease and over 1,000 people died of the disease before Obama declared a state of emergency and made just 1 billion available to fight a disease which was already out of control. President Trump also initiated a travel ban from countries where the disease is running rampant, including Cina, South LK0rea, Italy and Iran. Obama never issued a travel ban.

So while Miss Nancy sits on an aid bill, she has the audacity to claim Trump is doing nothing. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is correct when he says Pelosi is withholding the aid for political gain. If you really want an impeachment, go after her.

I'm predicting the sharp upward trend of cases in the US will continue as testing becomes more prevalent. Just a week ago the US was barely doing any testing and now our cases have more than doubled in just a few days.

Country / # of tests / tests per 1 million people

South Korea / 109,591 / 2,138
Italy / 23,345 / 386
United States / 472 / 1

Full chart: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/covid-19-testing/

Are we testing less because there are not many cases to test?

I’m sure that statement is true, but I also understand that we would not use the WHO test and instead worked on our own through the CDC. That took time. The first one didn’t work, the second had contamination issues. Long story short, at least as far as what I’ve read, is that we’re just getting test kits that work out to the area that need them within the past few days.

Now...that’s a loose approximation of what I’ve read and of course, you can’t believe half of what you read on the internet on the best of days.

If you look at the US deaths / diagnosed cases...our numbers would indicate that the death rate is much higher than in S. Korea:

.65% for S.Korea
4.6% for US

I can only guess that S.Korea is over-diagnosing, the US has more mild cases than we know, or both.

Timing is funny...talking about this on Hannity now.

China Accuses U.S. of Botching Coronavirus Response, Claims Virus Came from America

Having successfully bullied the world medical community out of referring to the disease with a name incorporating Wuhan, China is now putting some effort into clouding the origins of the virus by floating theories that it did not come from Wuhan or even China at all.

This week, those theories mutated into dark mutterings that the virus actually came from America, and since the first cases with no direct link to China are only just appearing in the U.S., the heavy implication is that America released the virus deliberately in China.

This, again, is a reversal of speculation embarrassing to the Chinese Communist Party that the virus either escaped from, or was deliberately developed at, an advanced microbiology laboratory near Wuhan. It would also appear to mark the end of China’s old talking point that the coronavirus is less dangerous than the common flu and America was overreacting by warning of a pandemic.
