CRE-8900 And Beyond:Ongoing Discussions

That Maco 91 is a typical CB matchbox. Not enough range.

These two are quite decent small tuners:

And they both have bypass switches (important). I own both and use them for mobile use.

"Tuned bypass switch"??? Okay,you got me on that cause I don't understand the terminology. I did find a link to a mod that installs a homemade bypass switch tough.
Allows you to switch the tuner in or out of the circuit. The MFJ-945E has this:

This is the tuner I use for all my low power (under 300W) applications.

Installing an aftermarket "tune-bypass" switch might be problematic. Use one of these: MFJ-1705H Bypass Swich

Tune a tower

Just a thought. Since the MFJ-971 has a random wire connection,I wonder if just for fun and experimenting,if I run a wire from the tuner's radon wire lug to my tower,would it tune that? Any comments?
