CRE 8900 SSB - don't know if anyone had posted this yet

When I was a kid growing up I was taught to share and that is what I am trying to do to an extent, profit is not in the cards just a bit of a fee to cover my expense

I will say seeing this is in the CRE 8900 forum, personally I feel the board is the same as an Anytone 5555 so I guess I will not buy an 8900 just knowing it is the same. Why waste the money because of size, the 5555 is a Cobra 148 size and the 8900 is like a 257 magnum size so should I pay 80 bucks more for a small size chassis that will so the same thing? I don't think so.

I have a Yeticom nothing special.. just another export radio..

I'd say the Optima outperforms most other export offerings currently on the market. I wish they would put the board in a different chassis though.

The absence of beeps, echo and the like is refreshing. Change the chassis, add CW, find a domestic repair facility and price reduction might help the rig sell well.

It was mailed to Key CB for repair. Tracking shows it was delivered yesterday.

I want them to do it since the factory engineer wasn't exactly clear if removing a capacitor would actually solve the delay. Also, they are fixing the issue with transmitted audio coming thru the speaker when talkback is off.

We shall see.

Maybe a variable cap will work ?

Might send Dave a note to check if audio is still heard on internal and external speaker when talkback is off.

It's a known issue that's highly irritating. When on SSB the audio is garbled and distorted and drives you nuts. There is a fix to disable speaker on transmit.

Just a FYI.
