If you look *really* close, you can see that it clearly has a flux capacitor. That's what makes it work so well.

Still butt uglyThis antenna should be banded. I heard of a guy who knew a guy that had one It is the real McCoy, very good pattern and has been the winner of many antenna shoot outs. All that is missing in the strings of info are the true facts. They are.....
1. This antenna has a hypotenuse driver element needed to function. The longer driver/reflector element the better coupling to the trapezoid. This increases the db rating, if correctly installed of over 20 dbi.
2. Co phased with a 2.75 wave length of coax properly coiled and pinned these antennas have military grade performance.
3 absolutely no ground plane wire or elements are needed. Can be ground mounted vertical or horizontal, height does not matter as smith charts show.
4. operate on all bands 160 thru 1.2 ghz with a flat swr never using a tuner
5.when attached to the proper hypotenuse driver it transmits both vertical and horizontal waves, and some circular polarization.
6. Needs no grounding, can be run mobile or as a base antenna. Some installs don't need coax, depends on the smith chart and swr of the area you want to install.
Couple this with a 16 pill bug box running on 440 and you'll get the neighbors attention for sure, and be envy of all the guys on da block.

First time revealed in all its glory. Here is my handmade Dave Made Rod of God 1/2 moble antenna. Cost in 1999 $500. This is the antenna that keydown functions straight out banned. Imagine this. You go to a big keydown with a 16 pill running your rod of god antenna with a reflector. Your competitor has a five antenna setup on his surburban running a 3cx3000. You get to the line and clean his clock. Thats part of the reason why this antenna got banned.
Antenna gurus, here is your chance to disect and talk about this legend. Estimates put this antenna production at less than 50 worldwide.
What makes this antenna work?
Discuss.
Damn.
No matter the skeptics...
I was there, in Daytona Beach at the Racetrack Shootout - 1995, when 925 out of the Watergate cut BIG BIG Radios slap off. He was running one alternator, a 3cx3000A7, and the 2 element Dave 1/2 wave system. He beat operators running multiple 3cx10000A7s, and 5 elements. (1/4 wave design) The fact is he was getting more signal to the judges receiver out 20 miles... Angle of RF radiation was favorable for sure, for a groundwave shootout. That was the event where they "outlawed" them. lol Peace.
fatboy builds them.WHere can an AUSSIE snap up one these kick arse rod of gods.
Banned or not, I really, really want one down-under.
Are they still available, anywhere you know of, anyone manufacture these monsters?
Or
Even anyone has 1 sitting in closest not being used & wants to sell it, I'll take it?

Old old old post back from the dead. If you want to see a antenna that will make you scratch your head and make you think real hard....search YouTube for Sha-sha vs T-bird. It is from back in 2007. Now that is a mean antenna set up. I miss seeing CCM and some of the old guys here on the forum. Yes they raised hell but it was interesting.......
I think I started a thread about Sha-Sha's antenna years ago here some were.
