So I'm in the market for a power supply for my President Lincoln that I am planning to set up as a base. I see this unit advertised for sale directly for $189 brand new. Then I have seen it advertised used for $150-$325 depending on where you look.

#1-is this a decent power supply?

#2-is the $189 version the real deal or some scam? https://www.deltaelectronicsonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Delta-DPS60M

Thanks,

Ken

Delta is so so, I'd suggest an mfj or jetstream over a delta supply and probably at a better cost. The ones below are plenty to power that president.

That's the most preferable if you don't mind getting creative with the power terminals. Really the best bang for your buck. I use one (35 amp) on the experiment/work bench and it's been going for about 5 or 6 years now.

I am old school and really like my Astron 70m and 35m. If I was going to get something else I would get a Mega Watt, several locals have them and they work great.

Big Thumbs up for Megawatt. I bought a 36 Amp version. It's tiny, quiet, doesn't create any interference and didn't cost a fortune. It also runs all my gear perfectly. Couldn't be happier.

I currently use 3 of the 50A models because the 50A are made to be ganged without an external current sharing circuit. I use two in parallel for my DX-500 and a single one for my radio.

How many amp tops can the dx 500 use?

I've not really checked mine accurately. But, I have a meter that shows about 47A when using SSB. I never use it on AM so I cannot tell you about the dead pull. I've got a clamp-on meter and when I fire it up today I'll hit it hard and get a quick peak on it for you.

So I have a cobra 138xlr and the meter dose not work... It dose not key up and signal dose not work.... It is not stuck it the meter moves freely. now wires are resoldered on both ends...So now that do I look at. Could it be a diode or a transistor?
