I placed a winning bid on a Uniden Madison on 8-13-12 from ebayer name
hotdogrelish I paid with PayPal as soon as the sale ended. The next morning the item was marked shipped and gave a tracking # with estimated delivery 8-21-12. Today the 22nd I went to the post office and ask them to track the package. They said the seller printed a label which created a tracking # but has not shipped yet. Has anyone ever had dealings with this hotdogrelish? Don't most ebayer's ship within 9 days? I'm starting to feel ripped off. What do you think?

If his post office did not scan the confirmation number he generated online, then your post office wouldn't know if it was shipped or not.

I'd email the seller and ask if/when it was actually shipped. Some sellers generate a confirmation number online and it marks the package as shipped, when in fact, it hasn't.

Either way, your protected.

His rating is 100%. I sent him the following message and haven't heard anything yet. I guess we will see.

I took the tracking # you furnished to my post office to see why I have not recieved the radio! They said you printed a shipping label but have not shipped the radio yet! Whats up? I paid you 9 days ago!

Wait 2 days or so for a answer.. If no answer file a claim with PAYPAL first NOT fleebay, even though they same company different rules... Since seller did not take package to P/O you are covered. Will take about 7 days before you get your $$$ back unless seller takes package to P/O and get scanned in
Good Luck

I hope you get the item you bid on and obviously wanted. You will clearly get your money back as "Item Not Received" but it does waste your time and keeps your money tied up for a while for nothing.

If it appears that the seller intentionally did not ship - Then they deserve you leaving a negative feedback for them.

There are other possibilities like the person could have fallen badly ill or had an accident or something shorty before they intended to ship. Could happen. Be willing to wait and see what the situation is.

Good luck!

Post office does not have TRACKING. If his office did not scan it upon acceptance, then it will not show up on their system. It is more than likely on it's way. It will be scanned when it's delivered, then it will show up.

Some offices and employees don't scan the label. Again, USPS does not provide tracking, just delivery confirmation. Give the seller time to respond. He could have had an emergency or something.

Sellers save money on shipping costs when creating shipping labels online. Look at his shipping time estimate. He may have prepared your package for shipment, including creating a confirmation label which will give you the assumption it has been shipped, plus it kicks in eBay's shipping arrival estimate.

I've received shipping alerts with confirmation labels on holidays and weekends when I know the office is closed. I realize they will ship it a day or two later. The dude has 100% feedback and deserves some slack.

This is a fact I use USPS and tracking numbers are useless with them until item is delivered I bet its in transit and its on its way Im wondering if he didnt ship it snail mail to save money instead of spending the few extra dollars and shipping the normal and smart way 2-3 day priority. That drives me nuts when people do that!!!!

Same here.

I am always amazed at how fast priority mail is. Most of the time, it's only chump change compared to the dreaded parcel posts cost.

Makes for happy customers.

My mail gets processed at the Columbus, Ohio sort facility before being sent to our local small town office the next morning for delivery. The Columbus facility usually always scans the package, then I get a days notice it's coming. When I mail packages, I remind the window clerks to scan the label so it will show up in the system and provide comfort to the buyer.

They don't mind my asking cause were all friendly that way, kinda like Mayberry.

Guys this is not always true. Many times a package will show way-point progress. Sometimes does, sometimes not. I see it all the time on stuff coming my way, including the last package.

If you'll re-read what the OP stated, he was told that a shipping label was PRINTED - but had not shipped yet. This is what happens when an ebay seller prints a shipping label through ebay. When it is taken to the Post Office it will then scan as ACCEPTED. No Acceptance Scan - no shippy yet.

Sorry,

You can take a package to the post office, pay for it and everything, maybe they will scan it for acceptance, maybe they won't. They frequently don't. IAW, it can be SHIPPED and on it's way to the destination without being ACCEPTANCE scanned. Which is why the OP should chill a little.

If they do scan it, you will see that activity.

It all depends on how lazy the clerk is.

I would give it a little more time. I have had many ebay purchases that didn't make the expected arrival time. It sucks when you're excited about something coming and its late. It feels like its weeks overdue. For all you know the seller's mother died or their kids are sick, and he couldn't get to the Post Office. I would be patient and email the seller. I hope you get it soon. It looked in really good shape.

He replied. He said he shipped the day after he received payment, that is consistent with what showed up on fleabay. I'll give it some more time. What got me fired up was tracking said arrival date 8-21 after mail ran on the 22 I went to the post office and had them check. They told me it hadn't even been shipped. That the tracking # was generated when he printed a shipping label from home. The fella told me he would go to his post office and check on it and let me know. So we are communicating now. I'll let you all know how it turns out. Kirk

Radio arrived as advertised, nice and fully functional. What got me fire up was the US Post Offices tracking or should I say lack there off!!!! Then my local postman told me the item was never sent. I trusted the post office and shouldn't have! I only had the radio temporarily connected to a Wilson 1000 that was in the house and was picking up skip from the Texas Panhandle and the west coast.
