I DIDN'T KNOW HALLMARK CARDS WERE MADE IN CHINA !That is also why I don't buy cards at Hallmark anymore, They are made in China and are more expensive!I buythem at Dollar Tree - 50 cents each and made in USA

I have been looking at the blenders available on the Internet. Kitchen Aid is MADE IN the US. Top of my list already...

Yesterday I was in Wal Mart looking for a wastebasket. I found some made in China for $6.99. I didn't want to pay that much so I asked the lady if they had any others. She took me to another department and they had some at $2.50 made in USA . They are just as good.Same as a kitchen rug I needed. I had to look, but I found some made in the USA - what a concept! - and they were $3.00 cheaper.

We are being brainwashed to believe that everything that comes from China and Mexico is cheaper. Not so.

One Light Bulb at a Time...

I was in Lowe's the other day and just out of curiosity, I looked at the hose attachments. They were all made in China .The next day I was in Ace Hardware and just for the heck of it I checked the hose attachments there. They were made in USA .

Start looking, people . . ...In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else - most often, their job.

My grandson likes Hershey's candy. I noticed, though, that it is now marked "made in Mexico ." I don't buy it anymore.

My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico ... Now I have switched to Crest.

You have to read the labels on everything.

This past weekend I was at Kroger . . . I needed 60W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets.

I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy -- was an off-brand labeled, "Everyday Value." I picked up both types of bulbs and compared them: they were the same except for the price . . .the GE bulbs cost more than the Everyday Value brand, but the thing that surprised me the most was that that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in - you guessed it - the USA at a company in Cleveland, Ohio.

It's Way past time to start finding and buying products you use every day that are made right here.

So, on to the next aisle: Bounce Dryer Sheets... Yep, you guessed it, Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada . The Everyday Value brand cost less, and was MADE IN THE USA! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years, at almost half the price.

My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA - the job you save may be your own or your neighbors!

If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time!

Stop buying from overseas companies - you're sending the jobs there. (We should have awakened a decade ago....)

Let's get with the program and help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the USA.
I passed this on .. .. . Will you???

I live about an hour and a half from a town called Oakdale Ca, in 2008 Hershey closed their plant, skipped town, and left hundreds of locals out of work and opened a new factory in Monterrey, Mexico were Labor costs are lower and they are not "burdened " By environmental, health and safety regulations.
Candy manufacturing facilities in Lancaster County and Harrisburg, PA were reduced significantly. The plants in Reading, PA,and Connecticut were shut down completely, as well as two plants in Canada, and these operations were also out sourced to Mexico .

A sad story for those of us who remember growing up
with Hershey bars, and
just as sad for the generations of today. What will
be out sourced next?

Pennsylvania is a big state, but it amazes me in
this day, how some news
doesn't make it over the mountain to the front page
of our papers or the top
of news hours nationally.

Milton Hershey, this year, will be joining H. J. Heinz in rolling over in
his grave. Hershey Chocolate is moving to
Mexico...whoopee! They're even
closing down Hershey Canada. Don't buy any more
Hershey Bars. Reese's
Peanut Butter Cups are my favorite and they are made
by Hershey. But, I
will not purchase another one!

M.S. Hershey had a dream... I will buy my OWN
Sugar, Milk, Cocoa beans,
(all natural mind you!) and make candy.. (no
tariffs etc..) EVEN during the
depression...HE and the Company made money...NOW
some Corporate big wigs are
ruining the name... AND the product M.S. created... Please pass it on...What a bunch of college educated
'idiots'.

Thank you M.S. for all the things I have and all
you have done for me and
my family...'I' do appreciate it... as for 'Dick'
Lenny and Company...good
luck you greedy, money loving mongrels...you are
ruining the name, the
company, and MANY lives in central Pennsylvania.... read on...

Enough is Enough!

So Hershey executives are closing plants in the US ,
laying off over a
thousand people, and destroying Mr. Hershey's
dream, all to cut labor and
material costs. The company will save about $170 million a year, all
on the backs of the
American people. The top executives will still make
their mega bucks and
the laid off workers will have to find other jobs,
some probably at minimum
wage due to their age. All this to take their jobs
to India, China and
Mexico, So WHAT part of the 'GREAT' American
Chocolate Bar is
left?...NOTHING! These countries are no doubt
laughing at the Americans,
who they don't like anyway. How long are the
American people going to sit
around and let big corporations do this to us? We
must all band together
and let them know we won't take it any longer!

Please, do not buy any Hershey product! I pulled
EVERY dime of my stock,
retirement and my HEART out of Hershey...

(it does hurt me to say that). If the company wants
to take the work to
these countries, then let those countries buy the
product. We don't need
it!

BLACKBALL HERSHEY!!

Please pass this to everyone on your email list so
it gets all across the
United States.

Retired Hershey worker for 35 good years. living in
the city he was
responsible for making Hershey a great place to live
and work and educate my
children. I am not expecting this email to have a big effect
on Hershey, but maybe if
enough people pass it along, Hershey directors' may
hear of the boycott.

We'll I don't believe for a second that American Made items are cheaper. And you can thank the almighty wise guy run unions for the majority of outsourcing and companies closing and moving to other countries.

Hell...even the sleeves of garlic that Walmart is selling are grown in China. It makes me sad.

The real Pisser about wallfart is that at one time they built there customer base on "Made In America"

Made in the U.S.A?
Despite a well-publicized "Made in the U.S.A." campaign, 85 percent of the stores' items are made overseas, often in Third World sweatshops. In fact, only after Wal-Mart's "Buy American" ad campaign was in full swing did the company become the country's largest importer of Chinese goods in any industry. By taking its orders abroad, Wal-Mart has forced many U.S. manufacturers out of business. The chain was broadly criticized for being the primary distributor of many goods attracting controversy, including Kathie Lee Gifford's clothing line, Disney's Haitian-made pajamas, child-produced clothing from Bangladesh and sweatshop-produced toys and sports gear from Asia.

The global economy " B--L S--T" along with the " GREEDY LYING COMPANIES " in this country will be our downfall if things don't change . I M O

Before I say this... FLAME SUIT ON!

What about radios? how man of those are truly Made in the USA?
Magnum... NOPE
Cobra? lol, no
Galaxy? not a chance
RCI? NO
Stryker? (or however they spell it???) NO WAY

nothing in this hobby is made in the USA, unless you count a few rare birds out there...

the sad part is of the stuff that is made in the USA, most of it is poorly made any more... and a lot of it actually says 'ASSEMBLED IN THE USA' and is made primarily with foreign made parts...

I mean here is one example...

My wife and I use cloth diapers... we purchased some from China prices ranged from $3.50 (SHIPPED) to $6.50 shipped, and average shipping time was around 5 business days

we also purchased some that were made in the USA, they took nearly 2 weeks to get to us and cost around $20-$35 per diaper...

sadly the China made diapers appeared to be better built... and the funny thing is that the USA made diapers are starting to fall apart, while the China made diapers look new still to this day (over a year later)

So what I am getting at is American products just simply are not what they used to be, in many cases, I find that American products are not up to the quality of their world market competitors...

with that in mind... How can people be expected to 'Buy American', when those products are that are made in America tend to be low quality, high cost. After all, 'The Great Imitator' (China) is making some quality items for a 1/4th of the cost of a product from the USA that is often times inferior.

Mr_FX is right, we have to use common sense in such decisions, and be a conscious, wise, and prudent consumer.

I take this email as a wake up call.
