fix kenwood

What is wrong with your TS440?

I have “rehabbed” several. I am not an expert by any means but all of those I have worked on are still working.

TS-440.
Dreaded DOT syndrome.Much info on the net.
PLL out of lock, if I remember correctly there is 4 or 5 pll in the 440.
The compound, wax looking stuff, Kenwood used to stabilize components in the PLL section turns corrosive after a few decades.
Starts corroding component leads and traces on the board.
Needs repaired and might as well recap it to lower the chance of any future failures.
Lots of info on how to repair it yourself online if you want try do it yourself.
