In a mid 80's film called "Salvador" w/James Woods and Jim Belushi, the common folk in El Salvador drank a cheap distilled liquor called 'tic-tac'. Basically mixed/made from about anything that can be fermented and distilled - with no particular formula. Is that 'aguardiente' stuff the same thing? Or it is an acquired taste with a specific blend?

Aguardiente or "Hot-Water" is made from sugar cane. It is the national drink here in Colombia, I think it's the reason that Colombians are so happy all the time. The Antioqueño brand is by far the best.

I used to drive to the distillery and pick up many bottles. I am gonna stop and drink a shot of Rum on the way to work tonight. This thread has me thirsty.
