How do I get it back onto frequency? My friend listened to me key up and talk on sideband and he said it was wayyy off frequency.
How do you know your friend is actually "on" frequency? Or more to the point, why would you think you're the one who's "off"?How do I get it back onto frequency? My friend listened to me key up and talk on sideband and he said it was wayyy off frequency.

Because his radio is right on freqency and he said mine sounded completely off. Plus he's been in the radio business 20+ years.

You will need to take the Enterprise back in time to let the op know that. The problem you are having is that the Galaxy 2517 has a split clarifier. The fine controls receive only. The course clarifier changes the tranmit frequency. This makes ssb operation dificult but there is a simple mod on the galaxy web site that will tie the two together so your receive and transmit will be on the same frequency.
After the mod is done the 2517 is a great ssb radio.
Absolutely. Always good to answer a question no matter how old. Can't tell you how many times I googled something only to find a thread with my same question that was dead ended with no answer.I realized that about 5 seconds after I posted. But to the google searcher of the future it will be gold.
