It must have an SSB delay.

Might matter how much drive wattage you wish to use with this amplifier. A radio that's big enough will sound better driving the big box directly. Even a small one will, but might disappoint with the wattmeter reading.

I think the gap you seek to fill between the radio and amplifier might be too small to justify adding another amplifier.

Unless the radio is a stock 40 year old Cobra 2000GTL busting a gut to swing 13 Watt peaks. That would no doubt call for a driver.

Yes, the main radio is a Flex 50000a putting out 65 watts.
Then I would need a driver once I finish the restoration of the Browning Golden Eagle Mark III, which puts out about 10 watts. Then I would need one. I don't want to drive the box hard. The previous owner didn't, I asked this question thinking the box would need 100 watts to drive it.

Carlbuilt C60 mobile with biasing $220 plus shipping. Does have variable. Will need a small power supply. The C80 with biasing for $235 would work too with the six.

Can't remember seeing a 6-transistor linear with proper bias for clean sideband. Just accustomed to that design setup as being a AM thing.

The "powers of 2" style, with two, four, eight or sixteen is more what I'm used to seeing in sidebandland.

Who made this one?
