Justin tuned Delta Force

It should have a variable power control which should give you a range of say 2-8 watts or 2-10 watts dead key. You say it's 10 watts all the way down........and Justin did that? Has anyone else been in there ? Either way 10 watts on low is not right at all.

    WTF!!??? Why is that doin 10 watts on low??? I cant see Justin or anyone doing that it defeats the purpose of having variable power. DONT run that into an amp like that it needs to turned down to 2-3 watts so it can have a little breathing room and room to (SWING) I personally would run 2 watts though cleaner sound on the output ;)

well there ya have it its either turn the audio down or drive the p!$$ out of it whichever tripps your trigger I am more for a clean sound so the AM guys can have ya screamin on that which is basically what its for Im use to dxing on SSB for the most part and accasionally hit AM good luck. King are you sayin he should run 10 watts into his amp Ive never owned one like that so I may be the idiot here. I was always told 2-3 watts but maybe a comp amp is different. :?:

Im no expert but that DK is too high.

Maybe 2-3w DK into amp

but more important I think you want the DK out of the amp around 60-70w, so adjust the radio to achieve that DK out of the amp.

2-3 watts well thats what I thought and have always done but I dont know King was sayin its not worth having the amp when driving it liike that so I figured Ide shut up since I am really not an AM user but SSB for the most part and usually dont want to be splattering RF allover and tearing up all 40 channels while saying hi to my buddies. Ill leave this to someone with more Knowledge on the AM side of things. Besides I just may learn something here. :)

Tony i am ssb as well i dont do much AM at all!!!

come to think of hell i dont need an amp with that radio i know it does well without one!!

Bobby

Well I run 12 - 15 in on SSB but at times run 20 in when conditions are bad but dont drive it that hard if I dont have to usually about 15 in on SSB and I always used the 2-3 in on AM with about 400 or so out on my TS500 and about 300 or so out on my TS400 and guess what I have never had a complaint and have had these 2 amplifiers since the mid to late 90s and never had to replace a final I also run fans on them aswell but never a problem other than a keying transistor ;)

I never said 10 watt key into an amp is the way to go, only a fool would try something like that. But if you want a clean sounding setup then i would stay around the 3 to 5 watt range. No you wont blow the pills in the amp with that high of a key or i would have blown ever amp i have had in the last 10 years if that where the case. That will give you a loud but clean sounding setup because having that big loud radio is pointless if they cant understand anything that you say.

Thank im wrong? How many times have you guys heard someone that was so loud you could not understand anything they were saying, local or dx? The next time you do ask them what there dead key is set at!

By the way Undertaker.....YOU DONT NEED A CB SHOP TO SET YOUR KEY! Go to cb tricks.com and look up the info on that radio. It will show you what you need to turn to lower your key with out paying someone $20.00 to do it for you.

" 2 watts key into an amp will not have a cleaner sound unless you turn the mike gain way back on the radio and then whats the point? "

My Delta has the non volted version of the NPC mod, it's loud, clean on the scope, and gets exellent reports on the air. My dead key range is 1.75 - 7 on the variable. I have run it into over a dozen amplifiers and always get flowers. Now, you are right, some radio's when backed way down the audio does suffer.
