Hi to all Ithought i would give you an update on the new base station and the Big Daddy Antenna. I have it all done the Antenna works great as well as the tower with the power winch to let it up n down. I got the new coax cables on and have the SWR'S down to 1.2 on average . That is on HORZ- VERT- and when on both it is 1.1 I can live with that for sure. So far i have talked to 14 state's plus some local folks as well. The setup is a Corba 2000 with the tower and Big Dadd Antenna. I am very happy with it as it is better than i thought it would be. We have photos loaded and getting ready to put them on here. We will be doing this very soon. Anyway God Bless and thanks for all the help along the way.

Hi I can talk 30-40 miles on a good day 25 with lots of noise on the air. Thats 4 watt deadkey 10 on the swing. I think it as good of an antenna as one can get and it dose a real good job. The boy lives about 40 miles from me and i dont have any trouble talking to him most of the time. Around here there is no one to talk to so i talk to the boy most of the time. As far as skip go's it is one of the best' at least i think so. Thanks foe asking God Bless silvereagle 1

any chance i could get a copy of your assy/parts manual?? I have a hurricane damaged big Daddy that i acquired in a tower takedown that i want to rebuild as time permits. A PDF copy would be great!!!

I used to put 'em up for other people but never had to assemble one.

I'm also hoping to find a good pdl-2 to do some moonraker mods with also. as long as i can salvage one with good loops i can build the rest of it from the dozen or so long lost hurricane damaged 'RAKER antennas i have layin' around!!!!!

Yes have had one up for years ..built like a tank and talks well if you can fine one grab it .

Well we might find out i found one new in the box. It has a 15.5 db gain its 18 ft tall 22 ft long or that what all the paper's say. Now if it will do that or not I dont know. I know that there is always hip in all things such as raidos antenna's and and just about everthing else you buy. This one was bought new in 1977 and is real nice to say the least. I may use this one insted of one of my moonraker's. One way or the other I will be up and going in one more week. Any help you can offer is welcome. God Bless SILVEREAGLE1.

I will do that' maybe some one would like to build one. I myself dont know how to do thar on this thing but the wife dose and i will have here do that. I am no computer whiz i one finger this thing to death. Anyway will do.

SE1, sent his manual a long time ago...just as he promised. I also emailed CB Tricks back then trying to find out how to post SE1's manual, but I never heard back. I just tried to email them again, but the email was returned...undeliverable.

Does anybody know how to post this Antenna Specialist manual of the Big Daddy on CB Tricks?

I modeled the Big Daddy 5 element dual polarity beam SilverEagle1 sent me some time back, but I could not get it to work as intended...not even close. See Eznec model below.

This is a strange antenna design in that its dimensions are very different than any CB yagi beam I have ever checked out, albeit was likely designed for CB 23 channel service.

Even so, I cannot get this beam to show good results and still stick with the specks noted in the manual. I'm surprised considering SE1 gave us a very good report back then.

So, I wanted to ask him some questions, but he hasn't been around for a long time. Has anyone else ever worked this antenna?
