Magnum - something in the works?

God I hope so, Magnums are TERRIBLE, Every S9 I ever saw drifted so bad it made a Galaxy seem like it was a great foundation to build a house on...

I've owned two Magnum Radios, and both turned out to be turds with knobs on the front...First was a S9 that everyone told me sounded "tinnie", the other was one of the New Omega Force S45 HP which spent more time at the warranty shop than it did in my possession...

I will give RF Limited credit tho for their Mic's...I have 3 of the RF Limited Extreme 2018's and love them....To bad they can't get their act together on the radios.

was that on SSB or AM, or both?

I just know a local was braggin' on his S9 with a 2 pill... I came in with my Self Tuned Galaxy DX 77HML, and NO AMP and killed him everywhere, AM, FM, and SSB... It was funny cause people kept telling him, "that S9 is drifting BAD", he was like, "Hell no it's not!!!" Then a few of them said , "Man too bad you can;t get your radio to sound like Eric's" that was great feeling

Sorry some of you guys have had bad luck with the Magnums. I own a OmegaForce S45HP, as well as a 257HP. I have not had any problem with either rig, and both are stable as they can be. The OmegaForce has one of the best receiver sections in it of all my rigs.

i agree. the s9 iSNT a great ssb rig. but thier cpu controlled radios are as good as a 2950.
i think with the raptor seeming to do the best id say ditch the entire s series line up 3,6,9
and make a 100 plus watt s45 and/or make a 100 watt plus base station with same features
as a s45 including cpu controlled so it will be great on ssb.

Not sure about the SSB part...I never been much into SSB mainly because I only run Mobiles and "Most" mobile SSB radios drift so much it's hard to drive and be continuously trying to fine tune in a station...The S9 was no different than my Galaxy's I have had when it came to drifting...But AM is where I was told by several locals I know, that compared to my other radios, it sounded tinnie, no mater what i tried.

I think this is where Magnum falls short...I know several people who run Magnums, and sound great, and like you said, they have had no problems...Magnums problem is they are not consistent with their radios...It's like there "Hit and Miss"...Least ones built in the last year or so...Which could be why rumors of them dropping the whole "S" line has been posted on several Forums...Maybe they have some sort of production problem going on...

Magnum S9 = POS. Im glad i got rid of mine or it would have been used as a rifle target..........<can not stand it>

I like the idea of the s9-175 with the extra transmit power however I bought a S45HP a while ago from Dave at Yeticom and it has has been a very good radio. No probs and great sound. The only limitations is the antenna which I will address. I am going to sit for my F call licence so I can utilise the 10 metre band on this radio.

RF limited/Magnum radios really need to drop the whole S line and focus on making a DECENT radio that works well on AM as well as SSB and forget the whole gimmick crap to please the AM loud crowd.. I had an AR 3500 and that was the BEST SSB mobile i ever owned!!!!!!

The 257HP is a good rig! I know a few locals that run them and they love them.
The omegaforce is great.

Magnum S45HP

I have one of the latest ones it olny says Magnum and not Omegaforce. The radio is great on both AM and SSB I have had no problems at all. use it as a daily base radio with power supply. I think most or the problems with the S45HP is trying to run the RFX-75 to high. Why do people need to squeese every last watt from a radio. All Radios run on smoke and once you let the smoke out they stop working..........................................

latest when ?
u got one of the new ones that are said to cover 10-12 meters ?

Yep. I'd like to get my hands on an Omega force. I already have the 257 HP.
