Matching EKL ERF2030 Transistors?? HOW

The horse is dead for certain. :)
Still want to know the answers to my questions but I know I won't get them.

Funny thing is that once he opens that radio up and switched parts warranty is voided and also alignment procedure be will no longer be valid and he will tune it his own way which is bs.

Pretty naïve statements for someone that's uneducated.

"Software Jockeys" claiming to be an "Engineer"
If he checked the syllabus for EEs then he would see that they do... guess what?
Software engineering! Gee whiz. Ever wonder what makes those CB radios work?
Software!
If he checked out software developers... they are often referred to as software engineers depending on what they do. In a lot of cases software guys go to college longer than EEs.
Depends on what you specialise in.
People with these sorts of credentials don't care about people like Fine Tune saying what they say.
But, it's a really, really, weak insult. Borders on stupidity.

"has a Service Monitor with a NIST Traceable Certification of Calibration and not just test equipment stacked up the wall trying to baffle you with BS. Never settle for less because that's what you'll get, Houdini tricks, ghost watts, "S9" out of calibration and a noisy receiver!"

Last time I checked he had a bunch of test equipment stacked up too.
This is just deflection. Don't look at me even if I am describing myself.
"trying to baffle you" is what he does with "tap tap tap pay attention".
You look and you scratch your head and if you don't know any better you accept it as reality when there is nothing really there.

All these two sections convey is disinformation.
And it's not even good disinformation. It's comedic.
Only the naïve would subscribe to it which is why it's been on his videos for over a year and I bet at most half a dozen people cared about it.
I don't think either of these people has anything to be concerned with.

The "S9" out of "calibration" is really hilarious.
How can you calibrate something that has no standard??
Everyone has their own definition of what S9 is and it's the RST system to boot, which is subjective in itself.

What I would like to see, which anyone reputable would show:
1. How are these "matched pairs" being matched?
2. Where is the test data and/or datasheets for the cable assemblies?
3. What is the procedure used for calibrating the RF taps?
4. Why don't you properly terminate your Siglent DSO?

If he followed NIST or ISO or even the "textbook alignment" then these questions are really, really easy to answer.

I posted these on his latest video several hours ago.
The questions were deleted.

Tap tap tap. Pay attention. Your being ripped off.

Funny thing we are talking a CB Radio so what if S9 is off. is it really that big of a deal.

I was watching a video of how important it is to use a matched set of mosfet transistors in a radio. So I got to thinking what is this guy talking about? How can you match a transistor that when put on a tester like the tester I have Peak atlas DCA55 only shows gate, drain and source. It also shows test voltages. There is no HFE on a mosfet. LOL.
Your are correct about no HFE figures for MOSFETS.
There are other variables that are important. The gate thresh hold voltage measured from gate to source. RDS on is another variable that is nice to match up, and the gate to source capacitance is important as well. All of these variables will affect your amplifiers performance and longevity.
In the A/B type amps you can end up with wave form distortion that unless you have the proper tools to analyze it you won't know but everybody who hears your amp will know.
I think every body knows what I think of the super whack pack tune ups.
It screws up a good radio and turns it into a splatter box that will get the attention of the FCC. Save your money and buy a clean amp if you have to.

That would be too cool, to find out that he's cheating the local municipality out of an occupational or business-license tax. Don't know what kind of, er, "registration" is required to operate a business legally in Las Cruces. Might not be any.

City of Las Cruces does require you to register a business, even if you're running it out of your home. Straight off the city web site. http://www.las-cruces.org/departmen...nd-development-services/business-registration

I don't know what the enforcement of that would be, other than maybe a fine for violating zoning laws.

I've been "paying attention", rofl, and I don't like what I see.

"I need a cb repair shop in Florida. We moved to Fl 3 years ago and I never looked for a good shop till now. Any ideas?"

Response:
"Google fine tune cb shop"

WA4GCH, Nov 30, 2009 SAID:↑
Keep in mind in Florida there is no regulation of radio repair shops and the FCC no longer requires a license to repair radios.

SO the only thing you have to go on is what others tell you ....
This is why even though I am in the repair bussness what I don't fix goes to the FACTORY ....

I have been to almost every shop in Florida, and even though I don't know this guy in Seminole, Just because he is a ham, I would rather let him work on it than any of the shops I have been to in Florida. I would definitely avoid raccoon by the TA truck stop in Tampa, 10-4 cb store, and Mesa in Wildwood.

Bell's CB shop in Oakland Park,FL. It's close to Ft. Lauderdale. Tech's name there is Screwdriver and is one of if not the best in the business. He has a Youtube channel to show you what all he did to your radio if you mailed it in to him, and he has people from all over the world that mail him radios to work on.

Response:
Now that we've seen his claims, can anyone show us how it performs at a distance or are we supposed to take his word for it?
rabbiporkchop, Jun 29, 2018

That's almost ten years later, ten years!
Just imagine how many dead threads he could resurrect, like zombies that he pokes at with a stick to help him advertise.
Really kind of sickening.
