maxlog M-8800

Out of the Anytone AT-6666, Maxlog M-8800 v.8, and President Lincoln II v.3 I'm starting to think the Maxlog receiver is the nicest on the ears. All three are very close in sensitivity and I don't know if it's just the larger speaker but the Maxlog seems to be the most pleasant for listening.

While the styling and some of the format for the controls (similar to the Anytone) aren't my favorite, the radio is dead on frequency, has good wattage out of the box, and because of the larger size and knobs is very user friendly.

Hi ,aerial up radio on, got some questions about the maxlog
When on f band why when freq display shows 27.125
I key up the freq changes to another freq why does it do this ?
Thanks

probly turned the clarifier while transmitting,, key up and turn the clarifier back to 27.125

or someone was programming the freq with a pc and put the wrong freq in for the transmitt

Factory also could have done that checking for memory and channel stability, they all seemed to come from the factory with no issues so someone really took their time making sure they were working correct when them left there.

looks like it could be for split when change up or down the transmit freq changes as well
Guess I need the usb cable . Is the anytone 5555 cable the right one for max ?

Hi , yes I sorted it had to key the mike while I went through the freq's .
It was a bit confusing as there is 3 seperate settings for the califier lol .
Think ive set it right now lol .
Another question when I switch echo on I get feedback out of the speaker another cb'er said it might be talkback is on if so how do I switch it off ?
Thanks
Dom

Yes the talkback can be set to only come on when using echo.Press and hold the func key and go back into the menu and turn the talkback off. I'm working from memory. I don't have a 8800 sitting here at the moment and can't remember what it's called, but there is two settings one for standard talkback and the next item is the talkback with echo.

hi , is tx mon the talkback setting if so I turned that off then switched radio off then back on problem gone .
Its the only setting I could see that might have to do with talkback .
