MegaWatt vs. Chinese Imitation 30 amp switching power supply comparison

Shipping is $5 for the 2 smaller units and $15 for the 50 amp unit. Per the web page.
If this is what you were wanting to know rabbiporkchop.
I run my supplies almost daily, sometimes all day long without ever turning it off. I used a larger gauge wire then provided by the manufacture. Other then that, I've done nothing more than adjust power to 13.80vdc and blow it out occasionally. Like I said, used for a couple years now almost daily for use on my Icom 746 and other various items.

So if anyone was wondering , I did as John said in the earlier post and oiled the fan and no more noise. I used some synthetic oil I had for the motorcycle now nice and quiet. I also Blew it out while I had the cover off.

We just started installing sealed Double Ball Bearing Fans in all our power supplies so heavy dust problems should not affect the fan anymore. It is always a good idea to blow the dirt off of the fan blades so they stay in balance. On the old fans if the bushing is making any noise here is the fix.
Open the top cover. Remove both fan screws. Remove the sticker on the fan. Remover the little rubber plug in the center or second black sticker depending on which fan you have. Put two drops of machine oil in hole in the center of the fan. Replace the rubber plug or stickers. Tighten up the fan screws. Don't over tighten. This will fixed it. Blow all the dirt out of the power supply and off of the fan. Dirt can cause this problem. THE NEW FANS DONT NEED THIS.
Thank you,
John

Good deal man. Glad to hear that revisions are still being made! Like I said before awesome CS by this company. Thanks Megawatt for posting this. I have oiled mine once since having it for about 3yrs now and it still performs like it did when I got it! Like you said, keep the fan blades and inside of the suppy clean which is easy to do with a can of compressed air. Or even an air compressor set at low pressure. Again, thanks for a great product that is still built here in the USA. (y)(y)

just a question, on your higher amp models (well, actually all models), there are 3 lugs for + and 3 lugs for -.

are all 3 + lugs tied together on an internal "buss bar"?
same for the - lugs too?

my real question is, on the 50 amp supply, is one + lug rated for the full 50 a load, or should all 3 lugs be tied together on the load side using a 3 lug harness and then to the load?

On all models even the S-700-12 one of the three screws can handle the full output.
As in our S-700-12 video only one of the three outputs is used to pull 50 amp from each of the power supplies.

What is up Exit 13. How you been? You would like the 50A model S-700-12, grab 2 or 3 and you can run some good power! Heck just 2 would suffice for a 4 pill. 4 would be very nice. They are honestly well made and the one I own has not failed me yet! It provides enough power to use my magnaforce 350hd with toshiba 2879's, and at 13.85vdc it shows right at 200w on SSB with the uniden 980 at 8-10w pep on SSB. Not bad at all. And no voltage drop either! I'm sure I could have used my optima mk3 and the magnaforce together on the same suppy (S-400-12), and still be able to use things fine. Due to the passing of the amp, or will take a bit of input, but 40w is about where I draw the line anymore. That shows 350-400 watts pep on SSB out of the amp. But at the cost of some heat! Not a bunch, but it gets warm. Pushing it with 20w pep it stays cool always. Anyways, like I posted before these PS units get (y)(y) from me. Have a good one. :)

I bought two of the 50A models recently. I put one of them in my bug out box. The box also has batteries so I can run off batteries when there is no power available. Just for grins, I tested the radio with batteries then with the power supply... no difference at all in noise/hash. The power supply is well regulated with no hash, no noise induced at all. With these supplies inexpensive does not mean cheap.
