I had a Ram 1500 with a Tram triple mag mount and Tram TBC-9 Antenna. I have since sold the truck and I’m leasing a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport so NO holes through roof! I just ordered a 2970n2 and I would like to get a less obtrusive Antenna and I’m drawn to the Sirio Turbo 5000 magnetic mounted but will it perform as well? I don’t stray too far from the cb band maybe 20
Channels over or under.

It is an excellent antenna, so is the Performer 5000. Difference between the two is the Performer 5000 has a lever and hinge that allows it to be tilted over easier. Both are more than sufficient to cover both legal and freeband 11m below 2:1.

Obviously it doesn't perform as well as a fixed mount but it is good.

Word of advice if you're using the Sirio magmount. Undo the four screws on the top where the SO239 socket is and remove it from the mount. Turn it upside down and put a blob of glue from a hot glue gun around where the coax enters the plastic moulding and check the soldering of the braid to the brass tab. Because the coax isn't secured as good as it could be it can rotate and result in the coax braid being torn and losing contact with the brass tab that is the connector to the rest of the magmount base and therefore your ground.

alot of good reviews on the stryker antenna and sirio. i cannot comment on the stryker. but the siriio is good and bad. the sirio seems too work slightly better than my wilson it replaced. but in town where it noisy the sirio is very senitive to this and pick up al.ot more noise. FOR ME id much rather have a quieter antenna .

In my opinion, if an antenna is more quiet then that means it is closer to being a dummy load.

I recently installed a Sirio 5000 Performer & 145 mag mount.

It's performing (no pun intended) a little better than the Wilson 1000 mag mount it replaced.

With the adjustable angle it fits great on my small SUV roof.

I'm very happy with it.

Edit: I just have to watch for overhead tree branches! Holy cow this sucker is high!

I use a Sirio 5000 w/mag mount. I've used this style antenna (under other names) for about 15 years. I like it because I can talk on 11 or 10, and it performs very well. A couple weeks ago I was talking mobile-to-mobile at 5+ miles apart, and traveling away from each other. Neither of us were running power. I've never had one fail - stolen, yes - fail, no.

Cool on the magnetic ground/mount on a radio with power. I never thought it would match or work well. Something I never tried but always assumed would not work well.
Thanks.

Like said Low , I always run power through mine ! The only issue I had ( That I didn't like ) was magnet was so big it wouldn't fit between the ribs on my Eddie Bauer Explorer so I could put it in the center of the roof like my old RS . Now it's about 4" on center from the hinge seam on my hatch . But still performs well from that location . When you get lemons ... You make lemonade but that Magnet sure Sticks !:D
