My First Attempt At A Mobile Antenna

@Robb:
Barefoot: Channel 1 1.0:1, Channel 20 1.0:1, Channel 40 1.05:1
With a 100 watt dead key channel 1 1.2.:1, channel 20 1.2:0, channel 40 1.3:0

As for receive so far it is very good but to early to compare. Will work it for the week and hope to have a good comparison by then.

@crmzendrgone:
I used the antenna ferrule from another antenna so steel whip can slide up and down.

I don't mind you posting to this thread. However, you might want to make your own thread just to show it off. It's really good looking. (y)

So for my education purpose the coils are made out of smaller meterial on this on???

(I couldnt tell if my life depended on it:redface:)

If I understand your question, the reason the coils on this one is smaller is because I couldn't get a larger diameter steel coiled tubing at the local retailers.

Still working on the antenna.

That look good how to you keep the spacing right?

So is the plastic tubing in the middle so that the current/signal(what ever it is called) bypasses the tube and goes through the coils?

So what I am thinking is it electrically(?) sperates the tube and routes it through the coil

I roll the tube around a large piece of PVC to form the coil, and then pull the spaces apart by hand to acheive more even separation between each wrap of the coil.

Yes. The PVC insulator in the middle breaks the upper from the lower tube so that the current has to use the coil to make the connection between the two shafts.

Was there any reason to goto the smaller tube coil instead of the flat aluminium that you was using before. I am just curious......

And how is the performance better, same, or worse????:redface:
