My Galaxy 95T2 Test with various Mics

I have recently tested my 95T2 with the Mics listed above except the ST-65X Mic with the following results.
The Mic that seemed to get the best feedback:
The 575 won out as the best overall Mic with my voice.
I had the TONE adjusted about 1/3 up from the bottom and my Volume was adjusted about 20%.

Second best was the Astatic 636L.

The RK56 (old style) and the Astatic D104M6B (older Used) Mics just didn't seem to match my voice as well as the other two.

The Skythumper will be the next Mic that I plan on testing. The fact that I have a very quiet background a N/C Mic isn't really needed.

For now this is my story and I am sticking to it.

I have a 95T and and use an Extreme 2018 with the echo controls on it. I also have an RK56 and a d104M6B and a road devil....everyone says use the extreme 2018. Always told that im loud and crystal clear. I leave the mic gain at 10 o clock or 12 o clock. I can go higher and it does get louder but starts to get crunchy audio.
 
Looking forward to your thoughts on the ST-65, The 65 suites me best with my S9 but, I keep the gain about 40%. When talking on the 65 and the M6 the 65 as I am told is equal to the M6 set on #7 but the 65 is much clearer.

Good point about the Mic Gain. I think mine is set about 50%. I have used the RK56 and D104 on other units that sounded good. So I guess different mics for different radios.
 
i run a Galaxy 95T and use the skythumper ST 65 and get great reports even when i run it on 10 meters with the amature radio audiophiles. there very suprised when i tell them it's a Galaxy radio.

Ok.....I am sorry to sound negative butttttt....... The radio already has echo so using an echo mic is retarded. Makes no sense at all. The 575 is bad a$$ in the moblie and a turner plus 3 mic on a base is kick butt. Sorry if your mad but thats the bottom line.

The only possible negative about the 95T2 (for me) is it has a eternal adjustment for echo. Mine is set in the middle and with the 575 sounds great With this being said if one wants to fine tune the echo maybe the the 2018 might be the solution. Just a thought. Either way the 575 is a great match for this radio...then again I am starting to believe the 575 is a great match for about any radio.

No Im not mad...these are only opinions. yeah the radio does have echo but i always keep it off. since there are no echo controls on the outside of the 95t i use the mic for echo if needed.But it is kind of fun to play with the radio echo and the mic echo together. i dont even use the echo or double talk on it. its just a screamin mic period.
all the people I talk to say the extreme sounds much louder. the other mics are great ofcourse but they all say the extreme sounds best, i have a rather deep voice and i guess this mic just works best with my voice. the RK56 is nice and clear and bassy and the road devil is a little tinny sounding....to me.
 
Why in the heck would anyone ever "need" echo!!! Echo is fun at the Grand Cannon but has no place in 2 way radio communication. Their is a reason why phones have never had "echo" built in and why no army, police department, or emergency agency of any kind has ever had "echo" built into a radio or reverb or any of the other stupid garbage CB'ers add to their radio's or buy built in.

If someone has an IQ of 80 or lower I can understand because that is the text book definition for retarded. Anyone not at an IQ level of 80 that has not suffered closed head trauma, was not in their Mom's womb while she was drinking or smoking crack has no reason to want, desire or need echo, reverb or talk back in any radio!!!! Their is no justification for any of that junk! Not once have I been trying to pick someone out of the mud and said to them " If only you had echo maybe I could hear you or understand you?!?!?!" LOL not once. In fact if someone wants to talk to me the first thing I ask them to do is turn off their echo. If they do not then I either ignore them or talk over them or turn my radio off and they can go back to Ghost talking.

Nothing is worse then echo,reverb,talk back, over modulated radio's!!! I have no problem with people running higher then legal power but for crying out loud can we leave the Jerry Springier Trailer Park Trash off the radio along with swearing???? I hate being associated with CB because of the actions of a few.


If not for the echo nonsense this would have been a nice thread!

I'm sorry you were so mistreated as a child. Your post reflects the anger inside and resentment towards your mother. I really do pray Jerry was able to seek treatment to help with her crack and alcohol addiction. Just because one of her camaro driving boyfriends used too much echo in his radio does not warrant your anger to everyone who don't share your same opinion on the echo/reverb setting of a radio. I suggest you also seek treatment from a qualified mental health provider. It must be terrible living with so much anger inside.

The above mics seem to be the best match with the 95T2. I have turned the echo down to min. and even for me it seems a tad to much but that is me.

The 95T2 flat out did not do well with the 575M6.
