What’s your output power on SSB And Am havr you measured power readingsIt has a bigger heat sink on the back than the regular 2950. I'm using a fatboy straight 4 pill. It's a bit hashy as rangers are. But all and all good.

and it still has hashy receiver. I can't stand that noise,So basically the 2950dx6 is just a 2950 capable of 100 watts and has a blue frequency display? Interesting. Might be going on my wish list, being I can do away with an in-line amp. No AM here, strictly SSB.
are those IRF520S easy to replace pricewiseI have 4 2970N2's here and none of them have them. Do you know if it is a direct replacement? All my 2970N2's have the IRF520's in them. Thanks
how do you Like the 2970 N2 compared to the N3 N4 i hear the N2 is the best built radioI agree 100% on the band coverage and being better built. If it's band coverage and "smooth" audio your looking for then go with the ham rigs. I only really talk on 11 meters (lower 38) for the skip into Europe and South America... and it's my Ranger 2970N2 that spanks my Yaesu FT-1000 MP MK 5 Field and my ICOM 706 MKII. Don't get me wrong...I'm not a big Ranger fan but I use what works for me. It's the 2970N2 that gets thru the pile ups with it's compressed audio...not the ham rigs. The Ranger doesn't have that "smooth audio" but when the skip is rolling in it sure gets thru the train wreck where the ham rigs would not. And for price..my Yaesu cost me 1100 used. My ICOM 706 MKII was 350 used my Ranger cost me 295.00 used. I run all my rigs thru big amplifiers So to each there own Everyone has different wants or needs and they should use what is best for them.

Did you purchase one of these newer DX -6Went to bells to check it out.. no price yet. This is a quote from the description.
"The new RCI-2950CD, rated at 50W PEP and the RCI-2950DX6, rated at 100W PEP are perfect for the recent band openings on 10 and 12 meters."
Aaaaa ok.... WHAT recent band openings??
No. If I do ever buy another one I would probably try to track down a nos 2950dx. Black/Green display. I liked my old one. Can't seem to dig the looks of the "cd" model display.. Had several old orange display 2950s & 70s back in the day. Lots of good memories.. Though the noisy receiver in all 29xx series radios leaves a lot to be desired.. I have a fondness for them.Did you purchase one of these newer DX -6
The display looks a lot Easier to read in the CD modelNo. If I do ever buy another one I would probably try to track down a nos 2950dx. Black/Green display. I liked my old one. Ham rigs have adjustable on board compression and TX band width that can be narrowed on the fly to do the same as what you're doing. Ham rigs with a knowledgeable operator of his radio can get thru the same pile ups you're doing.
