You don't know the rest of the story about the 955 with the beefed up finals that I HAD at one time. Those finals were a test and they turned out to be not suited for running an amp. Yes, they could be turned down far enough to drive it, no issues. BUT, they were extremely sensitive when keying into an amp as the split second it takes the relay to close is too much for them. They fail. I had them put the stock finals back in it and am still using that radio today. The 955+ still uses the original finals but they are volted to approx 20 volts to get them to put out up to 140 w PEP. As I said, I do not recommend that. I still have the radio they sent me for testing and I have it turned to 110 w PEP where it will stay. I run my current 955 at 10W carrier on AM, swinging to 45 to 50 PEP, and only 45 W pep on SSB. I never exceed these figures. As to your question about Stryker vs Anytone, I like the three year warranty of the Stryker, the SUPREME customer service, and the fact that I don;t have to punch through a shitload of menus and 20 button pushes to turn my mic gain up. A twist of the wrist makes me louder, and a tweak of my fingers changes modes. There are many more differences but I'm too old and lacking stamina to keep typing.
