Old President Grant same cobra 138XLR and Trc449 odd problem not sure where to start.

The TX coils are still "false peaked" at 22 MHz, from before hooking that jumper back up, either to the center leg or end leg. Have you tried to repeak them to see if you can get it back to 27 MHz ?

Yes I tried returning the coils can't get to 27 MHz. Did not gain any headway by hooking the coil up correctly. I am now thinking about pulling every transistor and in the transmit section and checking them one at a time. I remember this radio used to work once in a while in SSB. Now I get a carrier at the same 22.7 MHz.

Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.

Is 30 ohms worth worrying about in a 100’ run of rg8u ?
