Old Turner mic for a new mobile

That's a weird issue. I have to admit I've been lazy about microphones lately and usually slap a 4-pin to 5,6, or 8-pin adapter in-between the mic and whatever radio I'm using, and had a M+3b on my II+ for awhile until I swapped it out with the stock mic so I could have ch-up/dwn. Maybe something is different in the base mic's?

Yo Dan, Happy New Year.... This morning I took a few +3 base mics down to the Dodge and plugged them into the II+ (with cheapo 4-6 adapter) and they work like just like the +3M I've used. If you need any pictures of the internal/external wiring to compare with yours, just let me know

Took me forever...but finally got the +3 desk mic wired up with new cord/ 6 pin plug and set out to fix the changing freqs when the PTT was pressed.
Turned out I needed to clean and adjust the contacts to close together on time, instead of one set closing early.
Works perfect now.
I ended up picking up a couple more +2s. I just love the looks. I find they sound rather nice as well, I think even better than the +3, but not as punchy it seems without the compression. I think I’ll probably run one full time on the Washington.
Now that I have a couple dozen mics laying around, back to the original post...a mic for the mobile.
I ended up finding a RK60 in good shape, which as I understand it is the same as a M+3 and includes some compression. I think I’ll see how that goes in the mobile environment.

The Realistic 21-1173 mic is known as the "plastic turner" because they use the same mic element and sound identical. The nice part is the 21-1173 is usually cheaper than the turners.
I’ve seen your recommend that before and keep it on my watch list now. With the exception of the RK60, I’ve been lucky enough to pick up all my Turners very cheap. I paid too much for the RK60...but I rarely see one (or a M+3) in good shape.
Realistic also has one that looks just like (and I think is the same as) a Turner +2. I’ll buy them both at the right price.
turner mics are good.. my favorite.. the pronlem is on a lincoln 2 is the stock mic is a electric condensor mic. not dynamic. which is why the stock mic sounds best,.hope i got the terminlogy right on this...
I actually get the best power out of the stock mic, but it seems to pick up a lot of noise. Have no problem with how it sounds, but I slightly favor the sound of the 575 or modified D104. Noise cancelling mics are extremely anemic on this rig.

Does anyone happen to know where one might obtain replacement rheostats for the SSB+2?
I can replace with something different of course, but would prefer to keep original. Have looked at it fairly in depth, and can’t see how to get anything in there to access the wiper.
