On Super Bowl Sunday there is no TV from Spectrum in Louisville

I’d say it’s been obvious for years now that officiating is used to push an NFL game a certain direction. Not just big ones. Not just “against MY team”.
I quit watching after Chicago walked into Super Bowl after 1985. Have seen a couple dozen since. None this season. (I mess with friends. Pretend it’s all 1974. “Whaddaya mean George Allen ain’t coaching the Redskins?” The Rip Van Wrinkle of NFL fandom).
Free agency took away the thrill of a hardworking back bench guy finally having his day.
And fantasy football in early 1990s showed no one took it seriously anymore.
Besides, who REALLY wants to watch football with women? What’s next? Dancing with Stars? The Oscars?
Ran Quanah, TX to Denver yesterday. No traffic. So there’s that.

May not be the NFL, but certainly can be entertaining...equipment malfunctions can be eye opening!

Must admit, this last game certainly did not have my full attention. I even quit watching after Goof thru the INT with about 4 minute left...Knew it was over at that point.
Halftime show, never seen any. I knew it was going to be LAME!
Halftime shows been downhill since maybe 2012...(Madonna) I worked that game in Indianapolis. Even better was the result GIANTS WON!
Not surprised ratings were down for this one.
I think the NFL did themselves a disservice when they moved the game till WEST Coast would see it mid- afternoon.
That killed the Superbowl party routine, so many had when it started at like Noon/West Coast and 2-3 PM EST...IMHO.
I think if you check ratings overall since the late starts, (with a few exceptions) that's when ratings began to sag in a downward trend.
NFL ratings were actually pretty good last few years, game attendance is down due to the really good job the networks do in the broadcasts.
However overall the NFL is the biggest money maker of any of the major sports.
Having spent 25 years working NFL Games in Indianapolis (and many other sports events)
The exception maybe NCAA Final Four weekend...otherwise NFL is still King of the weekends.

Very few will be on your side there(except Trump), but your certainly entitled to think that.

They were protesting the police shooting of black perps. That could be solved by just acting like a law abiding citizen and not a rap video thug.
I like this the National Lingerie League! Would they let some lucky guy be the quarter back?

If they could guarantee no less than 12 roughing the passer penalties per game against me, sign me up.
I was thinking that they would need to eliminate the "Delaying the game penalty."
I could see some long calls before the snap was done.

Gentlemen All: I certainly respect everyone's thoughts, in the many directions of this discussion.
However I think, it may be slightly unfair to stereotype the entire NFL organization as "thugs" and anti American.
The player's are employed by each individual team's owner, whom yes. are part of the NFL organization.
There are many fine, hard working people in the ranks deemed as NFL personnel. I worked with many good, respectful NFL personnel over the almost 25 years, I was employed by the owner's of the stadium. The stadium I worked for was not owned by the NFL or the owner of the team, it was owned by a private municipal corporation. Therefore I am outsider looking in at the organization on a individual basis, and those personnel I came in contact with.
I can also say, I meet many player's from many teams over that span of time, and found them to be very good people, many of whom do wonderful things in their respective community(s) and even worldwide.
I won't start dropping names, that would be unnecessary, one would just have to do a search and find the many good foundations, and groups some of these player's created or have aligned themselves with; and the good they have done, and doing off the field.
I am not certainly condoning the actions some player's did, or their method of protest.
Personally, I think the actions of the small percentage of the 1500+ player's did not think things thru, or expect how their actions were going to be construed when they decided to make their stand on the worldwide stage.
Thus we have the discussion branching out, as it has and each of us developing the opinions we have.
We each have are right to develop our opinion of those actions on a personnel basis.
However, again I think it maybe unfair to label the entire organization as some have.
These are just my personnel thoughts, and not meant to diminish, or belittle those that differ with mine.

It's just football. Should not be political nor deny the person's free speech.
The free speech is before or after the game. Look what free speech did when Roseanne Barr mutilated the National Anthem. The guy's who take a knee for the anthem should consider how this affects the organization as a whole. I bet if the NFL would change it's stance if they started losing sponsors.
I personally don't care. I have not watched the NFL after they went on strike back when the Oilers were in Houston.
