Registry Cleaner Software

Yes they are very useful as I said.....if I forget to clean my reg for a while....my pc will slow down...and then when I run it...it will clean a whole lot of stuff out of my registry....and my pc performance increases a lot.

But..if you use ccleaner you'll clean that pc right up. You'll also run faster and jump higher and be a better person and all aound good citizen. Everyone in my middle class neighborhood uses ccleaner.

Ccleaner works and another that I setup for all my computer repair customers is AML Free registry cleaner Ive had great success with this one and it has a few nifty options. Asd far as a paid registry cleaer Ive always used an excellent reliable program called Registry Mechanic its made by (PC Tools) and is outstanding!! There are some other complete System maintenance programs that do it all.

One thing I tell people is another great program to run in your system is Malwarebytes this program I use and my whole family also uses along with any smart custmers that listen and get this program its a onetime fee and is good forever and updates daily. Ive seen this program grab Viruses Trojan horses hijackers backdoor root kits and others that Anti Virus programs completely missed or did not see but Malwarebytes did and grabbed it ;)

Every time I use a different reg. cleaner, they always say I got something like a Gazilion problems found...I'll do the cleaner, then try a different one, and guess what...they still find a Gazilion problems!

That is why you have to be very careful about what you use. A buddy of mine is an IT specialist and he deplores the use of registry cleaners in general as most people have no clue about what crap most of them can actually put ONTO your computer that you don't know about or simply inform you that you have problems that you need to purchase a paid product to "eliminate" the "problem".

I had one like that once, that acted more like a virus than anything...It kept popping up telling me I needed to purchase the product, and wouldn't let me get On-Line unless I did...Had to take the computer into the shop to get it wiped out...

Is why I stay away from programs like that. I just keep a known working image of my drive.

That is a fine plan.

But in the process of using Windows and removing programs, adding updates, and so on; the registry will take a real hit. It is inevitable. I've trusted CCleaner so far and it has not let me down in any way. Run it every night before shutting down. Malwarebytes too.

For example:
I put Nero 9 full version on my machine. What a mistake that turned out to be. Do you have any idea just how many registry entries the full version will put on your box? CCleaner fixed it after the uninstall. But I also ran Windows 'regedit' and dug the remainders of it all out by hand. Took hours. After I was done I ran CCleaner once more to be sure; and this box was running without a hitch once again.
