According to Bob at Bob's CB shop "bias voltage never needs to be adjusted because it is pre adjusted at the factory"..
That's what he told a buddy of mine that brought his 2950 in to get the finals replaced. Instead of adjusting the bias voltage after replacing the finals he simply asked my friend "where would you like me to set your dead key"

The original 2950 had a bias trimpot only for the driver. The 2SC1969 finals were biased with a fixed circuit that had no trimmer pot.
So the guy was half right.
Gotta figure he was talking about the pre-2007 radio, and not the MOSFET final radios sold since then.

This guy claims to be one of the founders of Palomar electronics and told me that stainless steel antenna whips generate more static electricity than Firestik antennas which causes mosfet finals to self destruct. He also says it is necessary to use 7 feet of coaxial cable to get a good match with the Firestik antenna. Every radio I heard tuned by this guy sounded stock but faded out quickly.
let me guess, this guy sells firestik antennas?
they do get out slightly further than my dummy load, i'll give them that, but only if i use the length of coax that comes from the factory.

Second, you do not get "NIST calibration certificates"
NIST pointed me to several places and I could not find the company Sherman used on those lists. Call NIST yourself.
This was after I saw the unedited version last night and this morning it's been edited to redact the jab at Mike's radio repair AGAIN.
When I went to look at other info for calibration certificates I came across two people that have done videos about it. One pointed out how to know if you get fake ones and the other visited the labs to show you how it's done. There is a lot of information out there to avoid getting scammed and I guess Sherman got scammed and he is using that to scam others?
When I looked at Mark Sherman's certificate it is from a lab that is not audited or accredited under ISO standards. Speaking as an auditor... that's a big deal.
Without independent third party verification your operations it's all smoke and mirrors.
It means his "certificates" are at best questionable. Not something that is "authoritative"

i once went to a tech his shop was in the basement, he took me down i had 148 gtl at the time was over heating told him it never worked right so he opened the cover up looked at it closed it and said its good now never did a damn thing to it,good part he never charged me
