The Stryker SR-955HPC #10meterradio has been constantly proving its mark in terms of immaculate radio communication. Topping the market trends since 2012, this radio has offered tough competition to every brand due to its unbeatable features and performance. It has maintained its uniqueness and market position in spite of all the resistance it has been facing in the market.

What's New in SR-955HPC 10 to #12meterradio?

The SR-955HPCkeeps adding something new to the basic design every time. Recently it has its sideband performance ameliorated due to the NE612 SSB product detector introduced into the radio. This has considerably reduced noise and increased smartness of the radio system. This SSB upgrade is exclusive to Stryker SR-955 as you will never be able to enjoy this feature with any other brand at such a nominal price.

Its receive and transmit capabilities have also been enhanced manifold. Its output circuit is now designed to have the superlative IMD properties along with the exceptional FET qualities. Now these settings will keep the entire radio framework cool and it will work smoothly for longer hours without heating up unnecessarily.

People call this a "glorified cb radio" that may be the case if you modify it, but this is meant to be a 10 meter radio. What you do to it after you buy it is totally up to you, I like it for listening so I really don't care. The color changing display is great if you want a different look. They don't have any information on programming or anything else with the radio. I did some research and finally figured things out while waiting for this radio. Overall I like this Stryker radio over their other three models because of the fact that it has the most features for my needs, the SSB and potential to customize the radio with my name is awesome. TIP: the software was only working for me with a Windows based computer, Not with my Mac. I'm lucky to have the option of both. Solid buy.

For the money you spend on this radio which is what, near $400, you could have an HF radio that will no doubt be better on SSB. But they are nice radios. Too much bling for me. I'll keep my HF radios and if I need a good 10-12 meter radio for SSB or even AM use if needed, I will turn to the old trusty Yeticom Optima MK3. Sadly no longer made, but one of the best SSB radios as far as an export goes, that I have used. Now it's all HF and that is like comparing apples to oranges! Anyway, good write up and glad you like your 955hpc. Good day and this post is strictly JMHO. Again, have a good one!!

Oh Pulleeze!
It IS a glorified CB radio!

I'm not bashing the radio, but,.... don't pee in my boot, and then tell me it is raining.

Just heard a gent on one of the Anytone 6666, it was a day or 2 ago. Anyway, he sounded good. Natural voice and on frequency. Clean and clear transmission out of North Carolina I beleive. Cant remeber the numbers. He was speaking with another local down south of me about 50 miles. I could hear both sides of the transmission clear as a bell. Both giving me good signal at S5-S7+.
But the anytone did sound good on SSB for what it was.

I worked a guy yesterday in NC on a 6666...probably same guy 222 talked to. He said he's had several different exports and the 6666 blew the rest away. He did sound good and said it was stock no tune. I have also heard several good sounding 955's. If I were in the market for a new export, cb/10 whatever you want to call em... it would be one of those 2. Just my .02..

Yeah but who uses AM anymore..lol

Obviously a lot of radio operators... as just the three main CB radio sections on this site alone outnumber all of the Ham sections combined here (not including the automated eBay or ARRL posts) by over 2:1

Ohh its a contest... got it.... still who uses AM anymore? Wait I know, CB's that like to their watt meters to swing and the modulation meters ping all the way over? The ones with the mod kits and amp mikes turned all the way up? I have listened to AM on 11 meters recently and I still say who uses AM anymore as its a waste land of noise toys, echo and overly driven radios. At least its this way here in Chicago. If you run AM and are not part of what I said above then I apologize for grouping you in to the rest of the lot.

I am being sarcastic of course as there are plenty of Hams that run AM on 75 meters. Who am I though just the big bad ham that gave up on AM 30 years ago even when I was still an 11 op.

How do you figure??? There are more Ham categories with or without the ARRL and the ebay and swapshop, the CB section has those too.

If you are judging it by posts, that's because there are more newer CBers needing the knowledge we hams (and you CBers too) had to learn so we don't ask or post the same redundant questions over and over in the Amateur sections as much.

General discussion is just that, for all on the forum.
