Thoughts on a HF Contest?

I am in...been awhile...looks like the weekend of the 16th-18th is somewhat void of any major Phone contests...other than the ARRL 10m contest
So 80-6m? (160m contest that weekend)
Thanks for your effort
Also many people have off week of Christmas thru New years...maybe an event type QSO party that week???
Any thoughts members ???
All the Best

Any NEW /old Amateur ticket holders who have not joined and gotten your WDX ID#....here's a GREAT chance to meet and chat with members you see here on the forums...test your rigs and antennas and have a little pre-holiday RADIOFUN

16-18 Good for me.
That's when I was thinking as well. Then maybe something after Christmas season.
I was thinking 100 watts and bonuses for portable / QRP as well.
I've been super busy with the SAR group which I belong to, so sorry guys.

100 watts??? 75 meters?? Bin really? can not get over the ground noise on 75 meters with 100 watts,

Sounds like you NEED a bigger Antenna!

Don't we all?

If I had a bigger antenna I would just get more noise, then have to use 20db attenuation like Gary does with his super duper sensitive antenna.
He actually heard me on 75 meters running 25 watts once , don't happen often though.

How about 20 meters during daylight and down to 40 meters at night?

I like this idea. Beats trying to find members on 4 or 5 different bands. Plus I don't want to have to keep re-tuning my amp! lol

Another thought that's probably been brought up many times before - what about a WWDX 20 or 40 meter Net rather than contests? I've participated in every amateur and CB contest so far and haven't made a single contact.

When I'm playing on 20 and 40 meters I get contacts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio all of the time. If I hear you I'll come back and talk to you.
