More of your fabricated reality. I own and use an oscilloscope. The scope pickup is built into my final amplifier. There is also a bird line section mounted to said amplifier. I also use an REA modulation monitor to monitor my transmitter. No pinched carrier and I make sure every stage of amplification is linear. Every piece of equipment cruises along at half throttle and barely gets warm.

There is a LPF behind my radio and behind my driver...he'll the driver even has a built in output filtering. No filter after the tube amplifier though because a pi network is pretty effective in a decent amplifier. I've mentioned this in the past here and other forums. Somehow that's led you to believe that I'm a fan of dirty radios.

When have I ever said you don't need test equipment to "visualize negative peaks of a waveform"??? Why would I run my station the way I do if I believed that?

If you've been paying attention you would know I'm the guy that runs a 2879 at 60 pep to keep IMD as low as possible....before you argue look at the datasheet because I don't care what you think you know. Most people don't like the way I do things because they want cheap watts and magic pixie dust .
So I guess that's your roundabout way of admitting it's impossible to tune a radio using a meter without actually coming out and admitting I was correct all along. It's nice to know you admit IMD actually exists and that it's not part of my fabricated reality.

Not impossible but that doesn't mean it's the proper way. I use a scope and think more people should. You are the one that beats around the bush when someone asks a question you aren't qualified to answer.

You're trying to make it look like I've been condoning hacking up radios and jacking off a watt meter all along. If you believe that you're delusional. Try to twist something else that I've said becuase you've failed again.

I have nothing to admit and have the same stance I always have. Your tech uses his test equipment as part of his sales pitch and some of the stuff he does with it is a gimmick. You are a tool, an insecure foolish little puppet.

Another fact is most of these new CPU controlled radios come out of the box tuned to spec and performing well. My guess is that's why Mark likes them so much....less work and more profit with Vaseline left to spare .

Something I've always recommended is leaving a Radio stock since those are the ones that I hear the furthest

I'm glad you recognize the importance of using a scope. I wish more people recognized that. Anytime someone says they plan on going to a tech that butchered one of my radios, I cringe at the thought of wasted money and someone incapable of hearing me or being heard at any distance worth mentioning. I'm quite secure in myself.
I don't consider myself a tool. I'm very happy with the performance of my equipment and I wish everyone had equipment that worked as well as mine because then the world would be a much better place if I didn't have to repeat myself because someone is incapable of hearing at a distance greater than a mile from their station.

Then why do you have Fine Tune work on your radios and give that tune-up you boast about? Surely you don't have problems that need work that often and if you do then you need a different tech to fix it right so it doesn't break down again.

The agc mod is kinda hard to beat. The difference between .4uv and .0399uv equates to an extra 20 miles between mobile stations without increasing output power of either station.

I have yet to see a good VHF or UHF radio with a GAsFET front end with 0.0399uV sensitivity let alone a CB. Not for any decent level of quieting.

I kind of figured as much hence your sarcasm. I've grown quite accustomed to it myself.

No sarcasm. Pure truth. I find it odd that you have stated you don't understand all the " technical mumbo jumbo" to use your own exact words yet you constantly quote sensitivity numbers and ranges based on power and even talk about the virtues if various mods etc. and like to display waveforms with your opinions about them. It just does not add up and I am certainly not the only one noticing it or commenting on or off board about it.

I understand enough to piss technicians off.
Signal gets weaker as it travels further.
Common sense dictates lower noise floor means ability to put more distance between stations and to hear weaker signals
