What electronics have YOU fixed lately?

I have a magnum 357DX I repaired I took care of all the issues another tech created but need a Squelch/RF power control and looks like it will only be found in another unit so if anyone has a 257 or 357 magnum parts radio I would be interested. Thanks, guys

Got me a Taiwan 146GTL here I been bringing back up to snuff. Full recap, replace clipped diode by PLL, repaired the broken trace to the channel readout to bring back the so called "burnt segment" and now waiting on a replacement meter with a 5mm warm white LED. Of course Deoxit all controls, give the unit a good scrubbing and re-tune.

Ok, I have found a place maybe the only one on Earth? that had the parts and a lot more for the Magnum radios in the event you need them.

https://www.avera.eu/

And they are high. But if you need them, you just have to deal with it and get them. I went through their list early this year and bought all I could find for my S9. It’s 14 years old and never given one second of a problem so I guess it’s due.

Time to overhaul it I guess, cap job wouldn’t kill it.

You simply have to avoid some people. They know more than you...and cant keep thier fingers out of the unit.

Tobe honest its sometimes best and more profitable to refuse a repair job. Especially if they want to jew you down to the last dime.....thats a big red flag. Then id they mess the unit up its still the techs fault.

Id dump that guy like a bad habit. He not profitable...an will waste ypur time and resources.

Its human nature to try to please everyone..bit its a fools errand.

Its tough in this business. Ive finally worked myself into a position that I dont have to accept every job anymore. And I don't. It makes some people mad....but im in this to make a living. And if some people dont respect that fact...they can go down the road...

Well, yeah, the above post is what I posted recently.
I used the radio for a month, with his Palomar 400 amplifier that I also repaired. I had talked a lot of local, and a lot of DX since I had repaired it the second time.
Earlier this week, he called me to let me know he had his money ready to pay for it.
I took the Simba SSB radio, the Turner SSB+2 microphone, the Palomar 400, and a 55 amp power supply he bought from me for the amp, back to him.
My wife and me needed to do some grocery shopping and grab some lunch while we were in the city. (about two hours)
Upon leaving for home, I called out to him on the radio. He answered right away. He was so happy that everything was working so well. The radio and amp sounded good.
Well, today he called me and told me the radio was not working again.
It took me quite a bit of talking to him, but he finally admitted to me that he had done the same thing again this time that he had done the two previous times. He just could not leave things alone and figured he could make it better. Now it keeps blowing the DC fuse as soon as it is turned on.
I am going to do what Loosecannon suggested, and I told him that I can't do anything else. I have done all I can, but he insists on messing with things when he gets it back.
I'm done with this one. He will have to find someone else to take it to, or use it for an anc

Ok, I put the Blue lights in the face panel and fixed the many little issues now waiting on the power/squelch control to get here and when it's all done we post it again.
