Over the entire period of the CB daze, I've had and used at least two CPI's. Solid radio. Never gave me so much as a gram of trouble. Ran like a deer. Got great reports with questions 'what is that radio you are using'? Worked as well on SSB as it did AM. Great receive! Has a bale too.
CPI also offered peripheral items for their stuff. The freq counter, which IIRC also had a built-in antenna tuner. They also had both a single large scale SWR meter and a triple scale. Even back in the day CPI stuff was unobtanium, unless you could find someone that was willing to sell, and then only at an extravagant asking price.

European, Australian model, not sure. I just know that it is a GORGEOUS radio! I've only seen pics myself. I know that one is my 'dream radio'. One of these days I'll get one.
Yup, I rode that thing hard but had to jump ship, got too high for me too. I've wanted one pretty badly myself but I just couldn't do it at the time. Sooner or later another will come along and it'll be a battle the last few minutes of the auction (again).
