my wife used a PC122 and a pro-520 for years and was initially resistant to installing a new full-size chassis radio in her new suv, wanted a little extra power but didn't want to deal with all the extra wiring, batteries, etc... to run an amp again.
iirc, you were looking for something with a built-in amp in the ranger line, but the Superstar 3900 GHP (if you can find one) is a bloody simple, decent, dual-final radio.
It doesn't have a built-in amp or anything, but doesn't need electrical upgrades to be happy, either. other than the channel selector switch, it works the same way as the PC122 so there's almost no learning curve. it's not going to get much easier than this radio for her to make the switch.
