Yes, it's a pain to clean!! The very first time she cleaned it, she grabbed the dishrag from the dishwater, rang it out and went to wiping it down. I guess the stove was still a little warm, we liked to have never got the soap stains off of it. I ended up using rubbing compound to get them off. I'll have to look into the Howard's refinishing, thanks for the tip.

357 Magnum, don't know if you've tried the Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish, but my wife has been using it to clean her black stove and seems to be working pretty well, at least she hasn't been cussing it when she cleans the stove, Lol!

Well The new house has had a few surprises, which really doesn't surprise me, but the wife on the other hand is freaking out. I know people aren't going to tell you everything that's wrong with a home they're trying to sell, but at least they shouldn't flat out lie. I was told that if anything was wrong he made sure it was fixed, apparently his idea of fixed, and my idea of fixed are completely different. So after stepping outside earlier this summer and getting a whiff of sewage, I'm gonna spend several thousand to have my septic system fixed properly. The tank is staying, but everything running from the tank is getting replaced. This was a DIY attempt on the original owner apparently, because there is no way in heck that this thing passed an inspection, it doesn't even drain into the lateral lines, it drains back into the tank. And what doesn't drain back into the tank, seeps to the surface of the ground. Apparently the underground spring he claimed kept the ground wet in the back of my property springs forth from my septic tank.
Tomorrow I will be in the attic fixing the duct work that isn't installed properly, I have two bedrooms that don't get enough cool air because they used one run of duct work for the entire house. A heat and air guy suggested I use one run for half the house and a second run for the other half, so that's happening tomorrow. At least I have no guilt about the sell of my old house, we sold to a young couple, their first home actually. So we knocked off 2k to replace the carpet in the bedrooms, and since my work schedule caused me to neglect the yard a bit and the house was a little dusty after the run around from our first buyer, we gave them $200 when we closed. I also told him the trim on the corners of the eaves need some attention pretty quick and the heat and air system was old but I kept it serviced and it was given a clean bill of health earlier in the year, but everything else should be in order to the best of my knowledge. So I have no trouble sleeping at night, but that's just me, I try to be honest because I hate that karma thing and I'm not real fond of Murphy either. :ROFLMAO:

You're right Slow I need a tower!! This may go south and in a hurry cause I'm pretty sure I've had a few to many Miller life's tonight. Like I've said in the past, not everything has gone smooth with the new house, but last night the wife made me so mad I could have eat Barbwire and spit nails. I asked her oppenion about flooring because I'm trying to make her happy ( beating my head against a wall) and I get, I DONT CARE WHAT You do I'm not making anymore decisions. So after waking up this morning I made a decision, I went and bought the front door we've been arguing about for 6 months, because it costs to much. $ 579 after tax. So it was installed before she got home, and of course she had something to say, I spent to much money! The Indian casino paid for $400 of it ,but I didn't tell her that  Then she didn't like the color, because it's white!
(Thought she wasn't making anymore decisions) I told her the frames aluminum, I'll paint it if I have to! I'm pretty sure if they didn't have that moose knuckle between their legs, they'd have a bounty on their head!! I haven't met one yet that wasn't afraid to spend money, their just afraid you're gonna spend money! And if you look at that moose knuckle real close, it's shaped so you can swipe you credit card through it, CHA CHING!!! THAT'S WHY WOMEN COST SO MUCH!!!!! :D Rant over,8m going to bed.

Figured I should post a picture of the door I keep yapping about. It's not really anything extra special,
I could have gotten a cheaper one but they came with removable glass so you could install a full screen and just have a screen door. But since I live in Oklahoma, I get a pretty strong wind out of the North, and I can see the shims that hold the glass in coming loose and the glass falling out. So I opted for the permanent glass, no shims. I have to admit it seems to be a really well built door, I like it

Vader approves it also.

I redid the flower beds, thinned out a few plants, got rid of the old rock.( more dirt and weeds than anything) laid felt around the remaining plants and some super tough plastic everywhere else, and covered it with red lava rock. The wife wanted lava rock, so I guess she's back on board with helping decide what we should do. She even liked it, I almost shot beer out my nose and face planted in the lava rock. She seems to warm up to the new place with each little project that gets completed, she doesn' thave a lot of patience she wants it done now!! Me too, but I don't live in that perfect world where everything gets done right this very minute. So I'll just pick a project and knock it out, one at a Time. And another thing, it only took Piggy Sue 4 months to warm up to her new home, we're going on 10 months and my wife still hasn't gotten there yet. Just between all of us, she's more pig headed than my actual Pig!

Painted the French doors, and carport door black with white trim. That's what the wife wanted so I wasn't going to argue, For the first ten years we were married she didn't realized there were more colors than just white, so this request kind of took me by surprise. I actually like the look, they may end up being a pain to keep clean, I guess we'll find out. 20211006_191339.jpg 20211006_191419.jpg

I've said in other post the house we bought 10 months ago as had some problems, we've bought a new water heater, a new heat and air system and today a new septic system.
The original owner built the house and we've spoken several times about the lateral lines because they have been a problem. ( sewage seeping up to the surface) He showed me where they were all supposedly ran, minus the obvious one. So today after my plumber and I discussed the problem and he started to dig up the back yard looking for the lateral lines guess what, none were to be found except the one and only that was giving us all the trouble. So we ended up digging next to the septic tank, cutting into the one and only lateral line, doing away with problem line and laying 450 feet of new lateral lines. He dug where the existing lines were supposed to be, and not a single line other than the problem line was found anywhere. Now I know why I've never seen lush, thick green grass growing over my lateral lines because there wasn't any! I guess I should have mentioned the line causing all the trouble was supposed to be an extra line the original owner put in because his wife supposedly wash so much that she would overflow septic tank with water. And on top of that it was in a totally different location from where the other lines were supposed to be o_O So anyway it all got fixed today and I was assured that should be the end of my problems. The plumber I used has been doing this stuff for years, he has a good reputation and we've known him for long, long time plus my wife cuts his hair so he doesn't want to accidentally lose an eye next time he gets a haircut. I don't understand, why not just tell me the truth about lateral lines. It's not like I'm going to back out of buying it. At least that should be the last major fix, everything else is cosmetic or just something I want to add to the place to make it the way I want. Of course I discuss things with the wife, sometimes we have different ideas so sometimes we have to compromise and meet in the middle. It works out where we both get some of what we like, so we're both usually happy with the results (y)

Yesterday I had some old burnt motor oil and transmission fluid and a washed out and weathered privacy fence. So I decided to brush it on the fence and see what happens. I think it turned out good, I was trying to get it finished before my wife discovered what I was up to, she caught me about halfway in the middle of it. Surprisingly she said that she liked the color, and asked what it was. After I told her it was burnt motor oil and transmission fluid she said O really? It looks good. I haven't told her I did the same thing to the shutters today :)
It made the shutters darker but I think they stand out a little better against the brick now.

The shutters look good, and nobody could tell what you used unless you tell them! I have to admit that ATF is very versatile; I spray ATF every fall on the underside of my truck because of the super corrosive brine that they spray on the roads in the winter in my area. I experimented with a lot of things for a few years but ATF came out the winner!
