Whoever said good fences make good neighbors, didn't live next to family!

All the jobs went to the cities. Been going on since WWI (by plan). Rural America is nothing but poverty any more.
He doesn't even attempt to look, rural or city. And the house is going up for sale, already dropped that on him. He said well can't I rent to owen ? And I'm thinking when have you ever paid me for anything? It's going up for sale.

I guess that's why we have NO Children ? Can't Sponge off of us , we try & take care of what family member ( When Needed as she has my Grand Niece ) . But as I think about it , who is going to push me around in my Wheel Chair & wipe the drool off my face ?:LOL: Sad in a way but we made our choices , traveled all over , had a Great Time , but .... No Drool Wipers ! o_O Stay Healthy & Safe ! 73 & God Bless ! Leo

I have one major problem! My kids wont move out! Their working and making more money than i, but just wont go away. I had a heated argument with a daughter in law, (because of her mouth) and finally they went to live with her grandparents. But they want to sponge off me and my wife and not get their own place. And of course my wife takes up for them and makes me out to be the bad guy. Now we got another child that is getting divorced, and moving back home. And of course, he has no job!
My parents forced everyone to pay rent. I was paying rent when I was 10 years old! I worked as a pump monkey at the local Mobile gas station. I earned 50 cents an hour my parent got half. When I was drawing unemployment they got half of it. It eased the burden on them for the extra groceries and utilities.
Also when living under their roof they had full control of every thing you did.
Who your friends were, no ladies in the room with the door closed.

I won't have to worry about any trying to move in with the wife and myself.. They would inherit manure duty on the entire place. I don't wear depends, but I might start if they moved in.

I would tell them no special deals. Buy your real estate just like every body else. Get a loan from a bank, and make payments. And tell them down payment must be their cash and no you will not carry a portion of the loan and cosigning it impossible.

Well they took the second offer!!
Kinda funny, the ol boy that owned the house I wanted love to work on old trucks, he had a really nice 70 GMC fully restored, and a square body Chevy that was slick, said he was looking for a 66 Chevy, long wheel base to restore. Well, well, well, guess what I just happened to have, yep a 66 Chevy long wheel base just waiting to be restored. So I offered 240k and the 66, he took it.

A nice feeling. Cake, with icing.
It kinda hurt giving up my old truck, that has been a dream of mine for years. I've wanted one since I was sixteen, finally got it 30 years later. But you now by now why I never got to restore it.(KIDS) So i figured he wanted the truck and I wanted his house, deal ! At least the old truck will get fix up, and someone can enjoy it, maybe I'll run across another someday, and hopefully fix it up .

GOOD DEAL! Glad it worked out.
NOW the fun begins, purge as you pack. Get rid of anything you have not used, worn etc. in the last year.
Exceptions, in my case were any tools, radio parts, antenna parts(y).
I bought my place, 3BRM/2 Bath/ All Brick Ranch sitting on just less than 2 acres.
Our modest home about 1300 Sq. ft. (living area)
The kicker for me was it had an attached 2 1/2 car garage, that is 31' wide/ 55' deep.
All the the home's utilities stuff /Furnace-Central Air/ W-D hookup/room for extra Freezer and /Frig /extra cabinets and closet space/big fiberglass Slop sink..etc..all out there.
PLUS, that left ME a 13.5 ft. x 25 ft. enclosed Shop/Radio Room in the rear.(y)
There is an Separate 21' x 25' detached garage (I call my BARN) sits about 60 ft from main home.
We sit just on the edge of a small Farm town in IND.
We have City Water/GAS/sewer/trash pickup.. All utilities UNDERGROUND...
No wires flying anywhere, EXCEPT MY Antennas!:ROFLMAO:
NO HOA or Town Building restrictions!!!
Hence presently 3 small tower's/about 32 ft. tall!
(Hopefully a new 50+ ft. one next spring) (multiple surgeries have kept that from going up last 5-6+ years):(
I purchased in 1993 ... Wife and I retired about 2 years ago...About 6 months before I retired we PAID IT OFF EARLY...Free and clear!:D
GOOD LUCK...ENJOY..
All the Best
Gary

PS: Looks like you have a Great Shop and plenty of room to grow Antennas.
Now what BANDS to Work?

Our place:
OUR PLACE (2).jpg

Looking you can see the shadows, from the 32 ft tower just to the right of the house (big 6m beam @ 40 Ft./2m stuff above) (2) Yard arms at top for wire antennas
Then another by the "barn" 25 ft.'r with 10 meter ground plane @33 ft.
Small shadow directly behind shop 32 ft. w /TV antennas @40 Ft. and side arms for wire antennas.
The trees on back of lot 60+ft tall with ropes going to the towers to hold wire antennas!(y)
Hopefully the 50 Ft. tower will go about 65 Ft. to the right of the one with the 6m beam(by house) on it in front of the barn. (close to the end of shadow)
You can't see them from this shot but wire antennas running to just about every tree to the right and rear of the lot.:ROFLMAO: Most of which are about 35-50 Ft. above ground level.
Enjoy your new place!
All the Best
Gary/W9FNB

Tanks for the congratulations from everyone, after months of disappointment on other homes we've looked at it seems this was meant to be. From the owner coming down from his firm stand on $269k ,me having the exact truck he was looking for and this house having everything the wife and I were looking for, it still hasn't sunk in that we're about to own our dream home. I'll still be nervous until we get moved and we're setting on the front porch of our new home enjoying the view of the Oucihtas.

Been in my new (to me) mountain home since March. First time I can say I love the area I live in. Still going to have to move one more time, to get out from under the thumb of the HOA (long story), but it won't be far when it happens.

There's nothing like the feeling that you've finally found your home.
